Got this film off Amazon £3.99 ,The Pacific Battleship Yamato its in japanese with some very dodgy english subtititles but gives some excelent views of the ship including the bridge interior. Be prepared for gallons of blood in the action shots and also some footage at the start and end credits of the Yamato as she is today when the japanese war graves comision sent a ship to explore the wreck in 1985.Also in 1 part of the film as the big guns are about to fire you see the crews of the anti aircraft batterys run for cover[these anti aircraft positions added after the 1944 refit did not have the enclosures of the earlyer antiaircraft guns but were left open] ,for those not in the know the blast of the 18 inch guns could strip clothing and even skin off exposed crew members, hense the very clean decks on the ship and the origonal reason for enclosing the antiarcraft guns.The 18 inch guns could fire two types of shell armour piercing [ anti ship] and an anti aircraft shell.
