have built r2 d2 with battery's full and did the power plug in and back out as the book when I press the front on button all I get is a blue lights in r2s legs I have tested the power leads and they give power help help help but nothing happens no lights no anything anywhere

Wrong batteries. At £5.10 for a set of 4 there is very little chance they will be genuine li-ion 18650 at all. Most probably have no real capacity and certainly very low power output capability. There is a reason 18650 cells cost around £6 EACH. Avoid any sales from both ebay and amazon. Use genuine 18650 specialised resellers, they will have upto date spec cells and best possible customer service. Ecolux, 18650.co.uk to name a few UK based specialist sellers.
