Imperial Yacht Standart, Pack 3, Stages 16-25.
Stage 16
Stage 16 contents:- Bow deck,wooden strips and a life boat.
Take the hull assembly so far completed and paint the upper deck and side frames above the deck with white paint you can do this now or later after the upper main deck has been added. Next take the bow deck section 'N' and paint the underside white and the top side black. When dry glue the bow deck in position on the hull.
Next take the life boat provided with this stage and smooth its surface and add the rudder, then undercoat it and paint it white. Once the paint is dry mask off the lower hull and paint the upper part with copper paint and the inside with black paint. Stain one of the wooden strips with your chosen wood stain and then use it to add the thwarts to the life boat.
Stage complete.

Stage 17
Stage 17 contents:- deck section, wood fret and a vent.
Take the deck section and remove the central parts then smooth it and adjust its fit on the hull. Paint the underside white and the upper side black. When dry glue it next to the bow section on the hull.
Next take the wood fret and remove the parts . Sand the parts and fit the large triangle shaped reinforcement to the bow and the smaller ones on either side of the false keel above it. Take the bow deck section sand it smooth and test fit it to the bow assembly just fitted. Paint the upper side black and glue it in position at the bow.
Stage complete.

Stage 18
Stage 18 contents:- Deck section, wooden strips and a life boat.
Take the wooden deck and remove the centre sections smooth it and paint the underside white and the upper side black. When it is dry glue it in place next to the last deck section added to the hull.
Take the life boat and prepare it like before and add a rudder to it. Paint it in the same way you painted the other life boat then add the thwarts using the stained strip wood.
Stage complete.

Stage 19
Stage 19 contents:- Deck planks, wooden strips and a life boat.
Smooth the upper deck with sand paper and fill any holes to make it smooth and flat, repaint the deck with black paint afterwards. Using a ruler mark a line down the centre of the deck. Start laying the first plank on the Starboard of the central line then add two more planks behind it along the central line. From the bow add more planks to the central plank working across to the starboard side of the hull when you reach the deck edge start staggering the planks to fit.
Cut planks to fit the deck openings and work backward along the deck with half of the planks provided. Use the other half to plank the Port side in the same way. The planks should start staggering towards the central line as you work your way to the stern.

Stage 20
Stage 20 contents:- Stern deck, stern fret and a bulwark.
Take the stern deck and smooth its underside and paint it white. When dry glue it in place on the hull and then use filler if needed to get a smooth upper deck. Once the deck is smooth paint it black.
Next take the bulwark strip and paint its inside face with white paint making sure you paint the insides of the portholes white too.
Remove the rear deck from the stern fret, smooth it and paint it black.

Stage 21
Stage 21 contents:- Deck planks, transparent plastic sheet and nails.
Continue to mark the centre line to the stern and then glue the rear fret deck to the stern. Start laying planks along the centre line like before and work your way out and forward until one side of the deck is complete. Do the same on the other side of the deck until it is also complete. When the glue is dry remove any overhanging strips from the deck edge and deck openings.
Next fair the frames along the side of the hull with the deck paying particular attention at the bow and stern . Use a left over deck plank to test that it lays flat along the frames.
Turn the hull over and fill any holes in the deck where the frames meet the upper deck. You can paint these filled areas with black or white paint.

Stage 22
Stage 22 contents:- Bulwarks and etch fret.
Smooth the deck with sand paper then take a sharp pencil and ruler to mark the deck plank edges. Make sure you keep a sharp pencil when doing this.
Next take the two bulwarks and prepare them as you did the first bulwark making sure you paint the port hole edges white. Cut the plastic sheet into 20mm wide strips then cut them to fit over the port holes along the inside face of the bulwark. No plastic strip should cover more than four port holes. When you are happy with the fit glue the plastic strips in place on the inner painted face of the bulwark.
Take the bulwark 'A1' from Stage 20 apply glue to the deck edge and frames and fit it in place only cover half of frame 1 with its edge and make sure the the cut outs along its top edge align with the deck edge. Use nails to fix the bulwark in position. Take the second prepared bulwark 'A2' and fit it next to bulwark 'A1' making sure its stern end is 7mm above the deck. Fit bulwark 'A3' in the same way again making sure the upper openings line up with the deck and the stern end is 7mm above the deck.

Stage 23
Stage 23 contents:- Launch, wooden strips and a hatch.
Take the launch and prepare it like the others add the rudder and paint it with white and copper paint. Paint the inside of the launch black and add the stained thwarts to it. Last of all paint and add the propeller.
Take the hatch and smooth its edges then paint it white.
Stage complete.

Stage 24
Stage 24 contents:- Bulwark, wood strip, chimney and a vent.
Smooth the edges of the chimney and then paint it with copper paint. When the paint has dried dry brush it with black paint and then stick it into the launch made up in the last stage.
Prepare bulwark 'A4' by painting it white and adding the clear plastic sheet to the inside face. Glue two pieces of wooden strip to the lower back of bulwark 'A3' leaving 5mm for the forward edge of bulwark 'A4' to rest on then glue and nail the bulwark in place making sure the stern end is 8mm above the deck.

Stage 25
Stage 25 contents:- Propeller parts, chimney and binnacle.
Smooth all the metal parts supplied and undercoat them. Paint the chimney copper and then dry brush it with black paint. Paint the binnacle with mahogany paint then use brass paint on the top and bottom. Next use black paint to high light the binnacles flat face and green and red paint to paint the tops of the side projections. Now paint the propeller parts with bronze paint.
