I've now made a start on this beastie.
It's very probably the most complex car kit Tamiya have made, up until the 1/12 Enzo.

I've assembled the floor pan parts, primed it and sprayed the inner area matt black.
It will need masking off when dry, re-priming and then given a body coat of white.

Thanks for the kind words chaps.

The black has been masked and the over-spray has been primed out.
An hour on a nice toasty oil heater I use especially to dry paint, and then a couple of white gloss coats.

Masking tape removed.
Overall, pretty happy with it so far but there's a little white over-spray on the black that needs cleaning up.
There is also still a front firewall to be painted and fitted, as well as the back wall and shelf.

Roy.

A little more today.

The inner front firewall was cleaned up and painted on both sides which involved a fair amount of masking.
It's now installed so some interior and bits of detail can begin.

The large circular indents in the floor aren't ejection pin marks - they are depressions in the floor that are supposed to be there.
They show as bumps on the underside.

Some weld seams added which will be brushed in with gloss white when they are dry.

Another bit today.

I decided to trim the driver seat with leather.
Yes, not really correct, and it ought to be black.

However, One of the reference pics I have of the real car shows the seat and it actually looks a very dark blue.
I decided - 'stuff it'...
Blue leather it will be, and a brighter blue to go with the Martini lines on the outside.

The seat has some serious compound and convex curves which was a challenge to get the leather to stretch around it.
The seat back was painted matt sand as the real car seat is bare fibreglass and sand is a fair match. When dry I gave it a coat of Klear to give it a bit of a sheen.

Once the leather was all in place - a mix of D/S tape and cyano glue around the edges - it was trimmed with a sharp blade.

Overall, I'm quite pleased with the result.

That seat is amazing Love
Man he took his time in the sun
Had a dream to understand
A single grain of sand
He gave birth to poetry
But one day will cease to be
Greet the last light of the library...We were here!

Thanks you guys.
I know the seat isn't prototypical, but I think some leather adds a bit of 'oomph' to the interior.

More interior work next.

Moving on just a bit.

Pedals assembled, painted and in place along with cable from the brake pedal.
Floor guard added and seat frames assembled, painted and fitted.
Seat now also in the tub.

So far, so good...

Well, I'm in-between a couple of new projects at the moment so I thought I'd do a little more on the Porsche.

Front uprights and suspension sorted - all very straightforward but brake pipes still to scratch and then add.
Rear parts next...

A bit more done on the little Porsche.
Funny - It's 1/12 scale and yet to me, it seems little.

Anyway, rear suspension and shafts are now in and I've assembled the main engine/gearbox unit.
It was given a coat of ally paint and then a thin wash with matt black to weather it a bit and make the shapes stand out better although it doesn't really show very well in the pictures.

I'll keep on with this one for another few days but I have a big project in the pipeline which will probably take over shortly...
