Hello,
I‘m Andrees from Hamburg.
I have a build diary on the german discussion forum.
There is much more Traffic on the UK Forum so i try to find
help here.
I‘m 99% finished with my build but i cant solve the problem
With the trunk (or boot?)
It does not stay open. It Looks perfectly good and i removed it
several times and put it back together.
The hinge has two positions and once open should hold it
In Place, Mine opens and closes perfectly but does not stay
Open.
When i open it to the max the lid contacts to the body.
The paint between the white stripes is scratched.
That was described several times before. I sanded the corresponding
Part of the lid and bend it slightly. No difference.
But my major problem is that it does not stay open.
Anyone can help me please?

Andrees
My builds: Shelby 99%, Porsche Carrera RS 30%

Hi Andrees

I found there is little grip for the screws to hold the boot retaining plates in place unless you pre thread the holes before adding the boot and retaining plates.

If you do this the retaining plates should hold the boot open although I would not recomend leaving the boot in a permamently open position.

As for your paint damaged parts please contact the German C/S for replacement parts.

Thanks alot,
The screws werent tight enough.
However, i didnt pre thread the holes,
but instead just bent (down) the plates a bit. Trunk now stays open.
