BigGrin Hi All

I have been searching on and off for this kit for a while now lots of M10's out there but this ones getting few and far between now it seems.

The box art is AFV's usual standard as are the contents. On opening the instructions are on the top and are the AFV exploded type to take you clearly through each stage.

All the plastic is in green apart from the black track parts. None or little flash is present on the well molded and detailed parts . AFV also provide a turned aluminium gun barrel in this kit but no etch is present.

The last thing in the box was the decals for 4 versions of the tank killer along with a length of twine.

A nice kit that should build into an impresive vehicle with some good detail.

BigGrin Thanks for looking in and your comments everyone.

The achilles was the Uk upgrade to the USA wolverine type M10's which also were up graded to the 17 pounder gun by the brits but the Achiles gun had a higher velocity which made it the best allied tank killer of the 2nd WW. The achilles went on as a specified tank destroyer in different forms until the mid 1950s untill multi role battle tanks were developed making the type obsolete.

I have managed to tracked down several upgrades etch, track, baggage and crew .. The Hobbyfan US tank crew looked strange like they were tripping or drunk but miniart do a British tank crew which saved the day. I also found a new book on the Achilles with internal info so I can replicate the missing lower hull ammo racks.

More soon

The latest book on the Achilles came out at the end of last month. It contains a history of the tank with many pictures. It also has several pages of colour pictures in the variations of camo it had. It also has a chapter on the various models kits and extras available of the tank destroyer.
