Issue 55: Motor for the second gun turret. Parts included: Gun turret motor, Cog, Label and screws. After attaching the label to the connector, we slide the cog onto the end of the motor shaft. This now attaches to the underside of the upper deck structure. Once the cog is meshed to the turret ring, it is screwed into place. This completes Issue 54. Issue 57: The first 15cm Turret and a Circuit Board. parts included: Port gun turret housing, 15cm barrels with cradle, base, cog, 2x range finders, 6x searchlight directors, mast support platform and antenna outriggers, cable and switch, label, circuit board , screws. Ok so we reach another milestone with this issue, but more of that later. Firstly, we fit the two artillery target finders. The images in the magazine are not very clear, and i'm sure a few of us will get them the wrong way round. however, the way I have fitted them is with the detail at the rear. This means that the 'round' indent on the face of the finders faces forward. The six searchlight directors glue into the recesses on the superstructure, and are identical. The details for the forward superstructure, the support and platform, are created by bending the supplied etch. before attaching, we need to install the antenna outriggers to the searchlight platform. This is done by dabbing a spot of glue into the two holes underneath. The support and platform can now be glued in place. The second pair of outriggers can now be added to the foretop gallery. assembly of the first 15cm gun turret begins by inserting the two barrels into the turret housing, resting the pins on the supports. The base is screwed over the housing and the turret is installed into the front port barbette of the upper deck superstructure. Holding it in place and turning the assembly over, the cog fits over the gun turret base. Aligning the peg on the base with the peg on the cog, it is held together with the three screws provided. Wrapping the cable label around the end of the motor cable, this is screwed into place on the underside of the upper deck. Now the fun part We finally get to test all of the motors and lights . For the first test, we need the battery box and the first circuit board from Issue 4. Plugging cable B-18 into the circuit board and connecting the battery box, we test the rotation of the radar unit. connecting B-19 we test the other radar unit. B-21 tests the firing of the 38mm turret. Here we need to swap out the circuit board for the one supplied in this issue. This allows us to test the searchlight, navogation lights, bridge light, lights on the admiral's bridge and the searchlight. All good This completes Issue 57. And finally for this month, Issue 58: Motor for the first 15cm Turret. Parts included: Gun rotation control motor, cable, cog, motor housing, cable label and screws. Taking the cable, we attach the label to one end (doesn't matter which, they are identical). The other end is plugged into the socket on the motor. The final drive cog sits VERY loosely onto the shaft motor, with the ribs away from the motor. This motor assembly attaches to the upper deck assembly, meshing with the cog for the 15cm turret. Once seated, the housing cover is attached using the two screws provided. I was tempted to try it out using the circuit board from the last issue, but as others have jumped ahead and burnt out the motors or LED's, i have resisted the temptation and will stick with the instructions This completes Issue 58. Issue 59: The next Hull section. Here we receive another lower port hull section, mooring Manoeuvring light and framework for the lower searchlight deck. The mooring light is glued on top of the foretop galley, located in the three holes provided. The framework is positioned across the central railings which protrude from the lower searchlight deck, above the bridge and glued in place. The lower port hull section is then screwed in place, CaptnBirdseye attached the following image(s):

Issue 60: The next Hull section. In this issue, we get the starboard lower hull section and the first of two etch platforms. be VERY careful when bending the edge of the platform, as it is only attached by 3 thin struts. A second railing piece is attached to the platform, and then glued to post side of the rear of the admiral's bridge. Two further etch pieces are added and glued in situ. the starboard lower hull section is then added in the usual manner. CaptnBirdseye attached the following image(s):

Issue 61: The second 15cm Gun Turret and the Funnel. Parts include: Starboard gun turret housing, 15cm gun barrels with cradle, turret base, cog, left and right halves of funnel, platform parts, cable and switch, cable label and screws. First job in this issue is to build up the 15cm gun turret. This follows exactly the same procedure as the port side turret. Once screwed in place on the deck assembly, the switch is added and secured. We next make up the starboard platform and attach it to the underside of the admiral's bridge, finally attaching the extra etched parts. Lastly, we glue the two halves of the funnel together, completing this issue. CaptnBirdseye attached the following image(s):

Issue 62: The motor for the second 15cm gun turret. This issue is another very short one. Firstly, we attach the label to the end of the cable (doesn't matter which end as they are identical). The opposite end to the label is then inserted into the socket on the motor. Store safely until needed. That's it for this month. CaptnBirdseye attached the following image(s):
