That`s all looking good to me. Seems like there is going to be a lot of wires to connect later in the build, but I`m sure you`ll sort it when the time comes. Keep up the good work. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Issue 63: Two searchlights for the funnel. Parts include: Grille, Base plate, Deck covering, Funnel cap, Searchlight platform, Cog, Cover, 2x Searchlight parts, 2x Searchlight lenses, 2x frames, 2x LED cables, 2x Cable labels. Issue 63 kicks off completing the second 15cm gun turret motor. Firstly, we fit the cog on the end of the motor shaft. Next we install the motor into the housing, making sure that the teeth on both cogs mesh together. Once the cover is installed, that is this turret complete. We build the top of the funnel by fitting together the funnel cap and grille with a little glue. The base is then added, and the assembly glued into place on the funnel. The two searchlights are assembled in much the same way as all the others. Once complete the cables are threaded through the holes in the deck covering. I'm not sure at this stage if it will make a difference, but it appears the cable labled B-10 goes to the starboard side, and B-11 to the port. Applying a touch of glue, the deck covering is then attached to the searchlight platform, threading the cables into the recessed cable runners to allow free movement. Pulling the cables tight, the searchlights are glued in place on the platform. Threading the cables through the holes in the side of the funnel, the platform is glued in place. lastly, we fit the two etch pieces to the side of the forward superstructure. This completes Stage 63. CaptnBirdseye attached the following image(s):

Hi Gray, I have only just started watching this build but it does look exciting. Intricate as well. You are doing a brilliant job. Chris

Issue 64: The next section of the upper deck. Consists of 3 parts, the sixth section of the upper deck and 2x 15cm gun barbettes. There's nothing much i can say about this issue. You simply push the barbettes into the openings on the upper deck, and they snap in place. That's it! CaptnBirdseye attached the following image(s):

Issue 65: Two more searchlights. Parts include: Forward searchlight platform, 2x Protective hoods, Funnel extension, Searchlight parts, 2x Searchlight lenses, 2x LED cables and labels. This is probably the reason the last issue was so short. In this issue we again build two searchlights, using the same method as before: Fit the label to the cable, fit the base, fit the lens, fit the LED into the searchlight back, glue together and then build up the stand and attach the base. The funnel extension simply slots into a groove in the rear of the funnel. The two assembled searchlights are then glued into position on the forward platform, taking note of the orientation and also which labelled light goes to which side. The cables are threaded through slots in the funnel, and glue applied to hold it in place. Lastly, the two protective hoods are added over the searchlights. These are handed for port and starboard. Again these are glued in place. I also used a little Tamiya Extra Thin glue around the edges for a better seal. This completes issue 65 CaptnBirdseye attached the following image(s):

Issue 66: The next section of the hull. Parts include: Upper port hull section, connector, PM screws The next port hull section is added and screwed into place. The best way to do this is to screw the bottom screws in loosely, attach the connector and tighten down fully, then tighten the two bottom screws fully. This completes issue 66. This month, we follow on much of the same, this time building the Third 15cm Gun Turret. Consists of: 15cm gun housing, gun turret base plate, gun barrels with cradle, cog, left & right rangefinder hoods, cable and switch, label, & various screws. \following the previous method, we first attach the two rangefinder hoods onto the gun turret housing. I found it better to add the glue to the inside of the rangefinder housing. Once this is done, we turn the turret over and install the gun barrels, making sure it sits correctly in the cradle, and then secure the base plate with a screw. This assembly is then fitted to the upper deck assembly. Carefully turning it over, fit the cog to the base plate. The cog has a recess that sits on a tab on the base plate, allowing all the screw holes to line up. Once the cog is secured with the three screws, we attach a label to swith cable, install the switch into place and secure with a flanged screw. CaptnBirdseye attached the following image(s):

Issue 69: motor for the Third 15cm Gun. Repeating the process for the other 15cm guns, we first attach a label to the cable (it doesn't matter which end, they are identical). The opposite end is then connected to the circuit board on the motor. The cog is then fitted over the shaft on the motor. This then sits in the recess in the upper deck structure, making sure that the splines sit in the cog. Fitting the motor housing cover completes this stage. Issue 70: The fourth 15cm gun Turret. This issue is a repeat of Issue 67, but at least everything goes together easily enough CaptnBirdseye attached the following image(s):

This is building into an impressive model and I`ll be honest, I thought the hull joints looked to large for the scale, BUT the bigger the hull gets the better it looks. Just hope all that wiring has good notation on it when it all comes together. Good Luck and keep up with the excellent updates.
