Hi John, and welcome to the forum. A D51? I thought they were out of stock?
It does look a cracking kit to build though. I am sure you will enjoy it ThumpUp

Thank you Gary and Alan.

I am looking forward to assembling parts that have been pre-machined. I have been building stationary steam engines into dioramas before arriving here.

This will be my first attempt to test the posting of a photo. It is of a Bolton No. 7 featured in a textile mill diorama.

Oops! Didn't work. On my last engine making forum, you simply clicked on "add attachment", choose the jpeg photo, double click on it and it appears below the text.

Here I do see a box for attaching files, but when the photo is dragged and dropped, only a line of text appears. Hmmm....

From what I've read, this is a very common theme on this site.
I will try again...

Okay, again...

No, I do not see an option to choose a photo - just a blank screen after clicking the "Attach files to this post?"

File Attachment(s):
IMG_0002.jpg (475kb) downloaded 29 time(s).

After messing about, I now see an upload for the image. Does this mean that to see an image, everyone has to download it?

Hi John.
If you re-size it, as per Alan's instructions below, it will show up without having to downlaod it:

Hope that helps

Hi Gary,
I did resize it. The file is too large until you reduce it and export it to the desktop on a Mac.

Let's try this again. I am going to select a jpeg from the hard drive and reduce it all the way down to 1200 px and export it to the desktop.

Then I will attempt to drop it into the post and see what happens.

It worked!!!
Thanks everyone. But I must say, it is much easier on a Mac to simply reduce the size of the photo, export it to the desktop an select it to be included in the post text.

It looks as though 1200 px is the size required.

Cheers...John

Hi John, the best size for your pics to show on your posts is 650x480 pixels. The actual file size should be around 150kb... If you have problems uploading this size as JPEG then change the format to JPG.

Thank you Alan for that information.

I have been used to posting with larger images that appear on the thread as thumbnail photos that can be seen. When you click on them, they pop up to full size.

You upload them in 1800 - 2000 px.
