Hi all,

After overcoming problems with the head motor my R2 isn't charging from the wall socket. I've replaced the MCU and Head Motor but this thing just doesn't charge off the wall socket. No lights are present when I plug it in and even leaving it overnight it still won't take a charge.

I've emailed Deagostini several times and NEVER had a single reply back from them. Model Space do reply to emails but just pass you off with Bull S**T saying that they have forwarded your email on to a manager over at Deagostini which is utter nonsense.

Does anyone have any solutions seeing as Deagostini don't care?

Best wishes,
Sean

Hi Sean. You issue regarding charging has been referred to the Project Team for some technical input. Hope to get back to you soon. All best wishes.

Thanks but I'll take that with a pinch of salt. My faith in Deagostini is zero but the proof in the pudding will be a resolution and as it's posted here for all to see then others will see if technical has a solution.

Best wishes,
Sean

This might seem like a bloody obvious question, but are all the wires connected fully?

Can you perhaps unplug/re-plug the wiring for the battery pack?

I do know that some have had to order a new battery pack due to bad connections. Maybe try to order one of those from customer services.

Thanks James. this pile of junk has been stripped down 4 times and every connection checked and double checked.

Best wishes,
Sean

Sounds like it could be the battery box then. I'd ask CS for another.

Looks like I was right with the pinch of salt. Why do Deagostini don't give a f**k once they have taken your money?

Good luck with this too. Been waiting since March for a replacement one. 1st excuse was the rep wrote "problem with issue 92 battery" instead of battery BOX on the note so no issue was sent out at all. Then When I called 4 weeks later wondering where the replacement was, they said they'd take care of it and boom - got issue 99 instead...

I'm not holding out any hope. Judging by the lack of support and having Moderators (probably the dafty who's replied to this thread) emailing me asking me to not be negative about this company and not to swear, this just proves the point that this company have scant regard to their customers. They are more than happy to take your cash but when there is a problem they fall silent. Bit of a con really

Is there anyone else higher up the food chain on here that is actually in a position to assist and keep me updated on any progress? I'd prefer to deal with an organ grinder rather than the monkey?

Hi SeanC. The Project Team has looked at your post on your R2's Issues and has the following response: "It is most likely a problem with the battery box." The advice is to "Replace the battery box." The battery box was supplied with Stage 92. See also your inbox. All best wishes

Hi Sean,

My name is Mark Adams. I help DeAgostini US with tech support, albeit usually in a one on one setting. There is what MIGHT be a very simple fix. In the battery box, on the positive terminal side, there are a series of protrusions on either side of each positive terminal. (Also the negative side) These can prevent the batteries from making full contact. If you go in with a pair of sprue cutters, or nippers of some type, and trim these back, you might solve the problem. It did in the case of my R2.

To the US gentleman who is waiting for a battery box, please try this solution as well. If it doesn’t work, contact me in PM, please.
