All

I recently got R2 all together and started him up. Upon boot up sequence, he moves forward as he should rotates his head clockwise and then I have to shut him down because the head motor just keeps going and does not recognize the sensors. I have checked my wiring, re-plugged the connections and tested the sensors and all works fine. I did get him to go through the sequence once, but the head was facing his right leg and I know this is not correct

Is there a specific orientation that the head motor should be? Do I perhaps need a new MCU?

Thanks for your replies in advance

Check that the dome sits properly. There is a metal lug on the underside of the dome frame that passes through the sensor. If the lug slightly higher then the sensor will not pick it up. You could also take the pivot from the motor, the one that slides out and hold the dome in place, and turn it around 180 degrees so it seats properly. I initially had the same issue and that resolved mine.

Good luck

Thanks Mark

I did unplug the right and left sensors and used the test board to verify the sensors were working and they worked as expected when I rotated the dome manually for the lug to hit the sensors. I will give your suggestion a try
