Did anyone else notice there is a port for a small type USB cable on the circuit board? Just wondering what this was there for?
You can see it issue 99 page 13 picture 6 Bottom right hand corner.
Any thoughts?

I believe the board is an Orange Pi, similar to Raspberry Pi. Chances are that USB port is used for loading the code for R2-D2 at the factory. I know my Arduino makes use of a USB port for programming itself. They could have unsoldered (removed) that port before shipping them out, but that would have been costly. Plus, there’s people like myself that would have soldered one back on. I don’t know of anyone who’s plugged in to that connector. Though, it would be very interesting if someone were to do so.

Also if you can get to it, there is a HDMI connector which when connected provides a sort of diagnostics screen if connected up.
Someone uploaded a pic of the output to the facebook group last year

I've used it to power the board when connecting to TV. I am going to add the USB port on the onboard connectors so I can connect a keyboard and mouse in the hope I can access the system and have a look around
