I must say Karl I kinda agree with you, Vetal and the Red Bull car seem to have it all their own way, and Button was outstanding apart from that you said itBlink

I have to agree with what has been said, even the BBC team said at the end of the programme that the race had not been a classic, which for them kind of echoes what Karl said.

The question is why? The circuit from a viewers perspective was not that inspiring, it just looked artificial. If you want proper gradients and character, it is a pity that there are no plans to return F1 to Brands Hatch. Now that is a real circuit without artificial lumps and bumps.

Even the drivers were predictable. Red Bull out front with Maclaren's number one driver BigGrin doing the best he could to keep up in a car clearly not matching Red Bull on performance. The only surprise in the race was the decision not to penalise the Maclaren number two driver when he had his almost regular coming together with Massa. Mad

The Incident with Massa and Hamilton was clearly Massa's fault, Lewis overtook, Massa clearly looks in his mirrors and sees him there. But chooses to move in.
That is why Massa got the driver through.

Also if ferrari replaced Massa with a faster driver then there wouldn't be any incident as Hamilton wouldn't need to overtake massa anymore.

Hi Chris

I think you should look at the replays again -- Hamilton's front wheels were level with Massa's side pod as Massa was committed to the racing line through the corner. It wouldn't be the first time that Hamilton has tried to dive through on the inside and totally misjudged his ability to complete the manouvre.

Two experienced BBC commentators also were convinced that Hamilton was at fault before the stewards announced their decision. I fear that they were attempting to avoid further suggestions that they had it in for Hamilton and decided to 'even things up a bit' by penalising Massa.

Probably the fairest decision would have been to call it six of one and half a dozen of the other and call it a racing incident.

Cheers

My only arguement there is why did Massa still pull over when he clearly is seen looking in his mirrors. Only he will know but that in itself was a dangerous move wether Hamilton had the line or not. Am I right.Blushing

I just think they need Mclaren need faster cars too catch Vettel, not webber even though he's got the same car. Just too have a better run next year. I said today to the wife, if you put Button in a redbull next too Vettel you can guess who's gonna get the win. Clearly with a slower car Button still manages to keep up with Vettel So is his success down to the fact the car is far more superior or just pure driving skill. Mmmmmm

I take it that you dont like hamilton then M.T.(who by the way is maclarens number 1 driver)
What I think is lets make a brand new circuit and have some big lumps of concrete on the corners (just for fun)to smash the million pound plus cars suspension, what a joke, and to end if you think the coming together betweem ham and massa was ham`s fault then dont give up your day job, Somehow the people with years of experience in motor racing decisions decided that it was massa`s fault (how did that happen Mike, are they all wrong but you)(were you watching the same tele as me) no disrespect to you Mike but on more that one occasion you have shown your bias towards Hami, but you show me a motor racer that doesn`t take risks and make mistakes and I`ll show you someone who`s not a motor racer.

Whether Lewis was completely by Massa is totally irrelevant, the most startling fact here is that Massa only got a drive through. Clearly Massa saw Hamilton there, and clearly Massa DELIBERATELY turned into him, thats not only causing a collision, thats just downright dangerous and Massa should be called in to explain himself. On analyzing the incidents for most of the year between these 2, for the most part in my mind, Hamilton is racing and with the exception on 1 incident where Lewis misjudged the length of his car (wore the cheap glasses instead of the spec savers ones), Massa has known he was there or if he didn't, then maybe he should consider whether he is in the right line of work. Clearly Massa has a real issue with Lewis which seems to be festering deep in the pit of his stomach. Time the FIA stepped in and sorted this problem out between them before someone gets seriously hurt.

Fantastic circuit but poor race.

On Hamilton and Massa again, i have been critical of some of Hamiltons driving this year but the coming together yesterday was 100% Massa's fault. Lewis dummied right, Massa saw this, Lewis went left and Massa turned in, his excuse of "what else could i do" is pathetic, the circuit is getting on for 20m wide in most places.

BigGrin Hi all,

I think Massa has a deep rooted problem with Hamilton that goes back to Brazil 2008 when Felipe thought he had won the championship only to have it snatched away by Lewis on the last corner of the last lap in the last race (phew!). I think this has really niggled Felipe ever since and he can't forgive Lewis for taking the championship away from him but he needs to get over it and move on. Felipe seems to be doing everything he can to try and ruin Lewis's races at every opportunity he gets !! NOT saying it is always Felipe's fault, sometimes it is Lewis's, but I do think he goes looking for a chance everytime he is near Lewis on the grid or during the race ??

I also think that these on track squabbles may mean that Felipe's time at Ferrarri is not long anymore and that if he isn't dropped a year early at the end of this season, then he won't be there at the end of next season for definite?? Ferrari want to win the championships again and they know they can't do that if one of their drivers keeps playing bumper cars with other drivers - just look at the difference between Alonso and Massa in the drivers points !! Just my thoughts and NOT taking any sides by the way!!! BigGrin

Love the Indian GP circuit by the way and great fun to drive on the Xbox, though sadly I agree, the race itself was NOT one of the classics !!! ThumpUp
