Hi Folks,long time no see.
Just finished the R2D2 which was interesting. Now i am thinking about the Soveriegn of the Seas, before i start that fascinating build i need to enclose my Victory build as you can see just need the Perspex to go on which I have bought.
The question is has anybody tried to put the sails on (rolled up) although it looks okay as it is I just thought it would be nice to see the sails attached somehow as I say rolled up.
appreciate any feedback for this venture, help, tips would it be viable etc.
Nice to be part of this forum.
thanks again

Your pic is not showing because it is too large. Need to reduce the file size to around 150kb, yours is close to 250kb....

Rob

Really nice way of displaying your models which themselves look brilliant.

I had a couple of internet searches bookmarked on the sails query and this one might interest you - different model but principle should be the same

Just thought I would updateon the progress so far, I will put the sails on and have a good look at it, then decide what to do, I have to admit putting them on now is a nightmare. Wish hindsight was before instead of after BigGrin BigGrin BigGrin

HI folks!!,
Could anyone tell which position the mizzen sails are suppose to be, I followed the instructions etc and checked the mizzen mast details for the blocks etc and the picture on the front looks as if the smallest sail is on the bottom and the instructions tells me it is on the top which i did. I took them off thinking it was wrong.
thanks again

Hi Rob

This is the rigging of the Mizzen staysails from the Victory 'Bible' HMS Victory, her construction, career and restoration by Alan McGowan which should help. Its definitely not the smallest sail at the bottom!

Sorry its so big a pic, I should have checked the dimensions first!Blushing

Robin.
