Taking a break from rigging I thought I would get the anchors done ,these are all metal castings. They were primed and painted black ,the chains were treated with a blackening solution and both were given a light rust effect with paint . Sorry about the amount of pics ,I couldn't decide which ones to use so I posted all of them nightwisher attached the following image(s): Man he took his time in the sun Had a dream to understand A single grain of sand He gave birth to poetry But one day will cease to be Greet the last light of the library...We were here!

Thanks for looking in ,I'm glad everyone seems to like the rusty anchors . To be honest I only added rust to make them stand out from the black painted hull if it was left a wood colour I probably wouldn't have bothered. Anyway all the standing rigging is now finished and I have added the spare anchors and have also made a start on the yards nightwisher attached the following image(s): Man he took his time in the sun Had a dream to understand A single grain of sand He gave birth to poetry But one day will cease to be Greet the last light of the library...We were here!

Just a small update ,I have made all the yards up and are all painted and varnished. I have also made the stirrups for the foot ropes, the instructions call for just eyebolts but I like to wrap thread around them to make them look like rope. In the next few days I shall be experimenting in the mysterious dark art of fully furled sails nightwisher attached the following image(s): Man he took his time in the sun Had a dream to understand A single grain of sand He gave birth to poetry But one day will cease to be Greet the last light of the library...We were here!

Thanks For the encouragement Alan and Martyn. So I decided to go with furled sails for a couple of reasons the first one being that the supplied sails seemed too thick to me and secondly the terror spent much of its time stuck in the ice pack so it makes sense that the sail would either be furled or showed away. Anyway after searching the internet I found a couple of articles about using silkspan as sail material and here's a few pics of my first attempt.
