Hi all
Been a while since I was on here but the build has continued in the background. I'm on stage 62 and putting together the lower main mast. I have bevelled the bottom as per the instructions and slotted it through the deck down as far as it goes but it does not slot all the way down to the 95mm line - in fact there is about 17mm between the deck and the 95mm line. Help?
This lower mast moves quite well through the decks and so I don't think it is too tight at the bottom and hence not able to get through a lower hole - I can move it up and down and it is definitely banging against something at the bottom - presumably a rib.
Has anyone else found this? Do I cut off 15mm from the bottom of the lower mast?

Are you sure your mast holes are all in alignment? Does the mast go through all the mast holes easily?
You could take a planking strip or a thinner dowel, insert it through the mast holes as far as it will go and mark the upper deck level onto the strip/dowel. Compare the strip against the 95mm mark on your mast, if all good here then I'd say the taper at the bottom of the mast is not tapered enough or the mast is not going through all the mast holes. A 17mm difference is way too much and should not be cut off.....
Regards
Alan
