Hi All,

Have a quick question about the skid beams & pillars.

I have fitted all the pillars in accordance with the instructions, all equi-spaced & aligned.

I am now about to fit the skid beams. they're all assembled & to length.

When I place them on the pillars & square them up I get about 1/3rd of the pillar top showing each side of the beam, I realise that this is due to the offset of the beam assembly but think it looks a bit naff.

Wondered if anyone had any ideas to make it look better, did think about painting the pillars black to match the beams & hide it a bit but don't really want to remove them.

Thanks in advance.

Wilfy

Hi Wilfy! Cool

I avoided this problem when I realized that the grates were to wide back in May, I removed the grates and reduced them. Then I fitted the pillars on the grates over the cannon ball channels a little adjustment was needed but the skid beams fitted just right, here is the link:-

If you don't want to remove the beams to make wider ones, then as you say paint the top of the pillars black.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I did check out your build diary Darren (always do best on here) however my gratings are to the mag size as I had already built them before seeing you mod back in May so can't move the pillars in.

Think I'll just paint the tops black, won't be too visible when finished.

Thanks again

Wilfy
