As building the Mclaren is going to take quite awhile I decided to embark on the [i]007 DB5 to fill in the time. To be honest the Aston is such an iconic car I just had to have ago. Having found a great deal of info on the Web I decided to build the car as it appeared in a 360 degree view, well used on the inside. I am going to try to post some pics of the drivers seat as it looked in the pictures.

I have been doing this stuff for years now and use old fashioned masking tape to enable a template to be made. Then depending on the area to be covered I use a thin plasticard and double sided tape to fix the leather/cloth etc which Keeps large flat areas smooth. It's good to put up work for scrutiny and see what others think, as we all build for ourselves So rarely have the chance to be tested if you know what I mean.

Hi bigmal0, I do know what you mean about being tested and it is good to be scrutinised and then get feedback from fellow modellers, so that you know whether you are doing it right, or wrong, whichever the case may be ?? To me, that alone is a good enough reason to post up those pics for all to see rather than just talk about it as some do. Another great reason is that you can share your tips, such as your carpeting methods and likewise receive some back from other modellers, which is why it is so great to be part of a forum like this. We all gain something out of it somewhere I think ?? Well done again mate - great stuff!! Kev.

I have spent today working on the left engine bay and the rear bulkhead. Question, on the rear bulkhead on the left as you face it are two raised sections and what appears to be a tube, anybody got any ideas what they represent Tony

Hi Tony, Excellent stuff there mate, looking very good indeed !! I particularly like the black and yellow flex that you have used on this model and also I noticed, on your Trumpeter GT40, it looks like a very good representation of the old fabric covered wiring looms from the 60's & 70's - cool stuff and top class motor modelling mate. Well done, we need more of this !! Cheers ... Kev.

A bit more progress whilst waiting for parts for either the DB5 or MP23. I am spending a lot of time making parts from brass tube and wire but its looking reasonable compared to my reference pictures, see what the team think.

Does anyone know where to get 1/8 ball end joints, that look realistic, not the crude bits from model motor cars
