Thanks to DeAgostini's Summer sale here in the States, I have just purchased the 12 month Shelby subscription.

I've decided that this will be a complete custom build, complete with a Candy paint job.Drool I won't be posting stage by stage build, but will detail all the custom work.

Hope you all enjoy this diary.Blink

So Here we go.

I've painted the trim and valve stem of the front wheels, the steering knuckles, and brake rotors. Using 220 grit sand paper, I scuffed the brake rotors in a circular fashion to mimic rotor wear. The road surfaces of the tires were also scuffed to show wear and tear.

I will be posting a complete paint list next and will keep it updated as I move through the build.

I'm so excited to get this started. This will be my first custom build in about 40 years as I've just started back modeling this January.ThumpUp

Looking forward to seeing what you do with this beastie.
It's a great, fun kit with lots of scope for upgrades - particularly in the engine bay.

So today I finished the front wheel assemblies. I painted the carburetors and tops of the rocker arm covers and air cleaner. Also painted the air cleaner element. I used some black sandpaper to simulate the valve cover gaskets. Once assembled I lightly weathered the entire upper end of the engine to look like it has been used.

Wrapped these sub-assemblies in bubble wrap and stored away for later.
