PACK 4
STAGE 24
This stage contains the other rear wheel and tyre. As before, paint the wheel if you are changing the colour, then fit the tyre. Detail on the wheel can be painted in using silver or grey.
STAGES 25 & 26
These two packs contain the parts to build the rear suspension on the other side of the car.
Assembly is straight forward but it must be noted that the instructions for pack 26 show a small polished metal pin – part 26-8 – for holding the bottom end of the shock absorber into the swinging arm. This pin is NOT included, but two very tiny screws that have no mention in the instructions, are. One of these screws is used to hold the shock absorber bottom in place.
STAGE 27
These parts are to build the inside of the other door, and to add the hinges. As before, the hinges will need to be painted to match the door skin if you are changing the colour or adding decals.
STAGE 28
This set of parts is to complete the inside of the door.
As before, trim the panel in your choice of material or repaint it. For this door, I decided to make the pattern in the fabric run in a different direction to the other door – after all, it’s a custom car…
STAGE 29
This pack contains the central floor panel which should be lightly sprayed to match the other two floor parts. The front chassis section can now be fixed to this panel.
STAGE 30
The main interior floor panel is supplied in this pack.
You can leave it as-is, or you could carpet the interior. To do this, you will need to make a set of paper templates for cutting the carpet material. This is done quite easily by first cutting a piece of paper to the approximate shape you need. The paper can then be ‘pressed’ into the edges and corners of the panel you wish to cover, using a pencil. The template can then be cut out and transferred to the carpet material.
In this stage, the rear part of the chassis is attached to the central chassis part, and the rear wheels are fitted. This will complete the actual car chassis.
STAGE 31
This pack contains the detail parts for the interior floor as well as the upper foot well panel.
This panel can be carpeted to match the main floor. Assembly of the gear lever, hand brake, heater controls and seat belt parts can now take place.
