Looks like it should be possible to fit a Raspberry Pi and/or an Arduino in to R2D2.

Now as to how to program them, I am not sure as this stage. I am hoping they can be interfaced to the logic board that comes with r2d2.


Started building R2D2 with the right leg.

Some parts are only pushed together for now.

Added some more parts to the back of the right leg. Getting to have a fairly decent weight in it.

Update on the right leg for R2D2. Outer panels for the foot have been added. Infrared sensor goes on next.

Finally added the last metal frame to the dome, along with all the bolts for holding it on, (all 14 of them). Also added the bottom footplate to the right leg.

Latest issue is all done.

Left leg is almost done and I am getting there with adding the panels to the dome. Looks like one may have slipped a bit in the 3rd photo.

Dome is pretty much all done. Just need to add a few more allen screws to the inside and maybe a bit more electronics.

Added a bit more to the frame for the body. Looked at the official build to see how the two sections joined up. Using the spare countersunk screw to hold the parts together.

Body panels have been joined together and next week the rest of the frame will come. It will be a long time before the body panels and frames are connected.
