Hi All. I’ve pretty much finished the project, well nearly. The base has all the electronics in place, tested and working, sound effect board programmed, under lighting in place all ready for the final assembly once I have received the last red edging strip to arrive, hopefully sometime early next week. The Enterprise has now had its Bussard fitted and a few extra tweaks in the exterior lighting.
As promised, I have built two shuttles, Galileo and Columbus, which will hover around the ship in flight using a radio orbital dimension system, rods for short. The building of these took ages as they are insanely small particularly when it came to the decals,WOW. I could only do one a day as my eyes needed time to readjust before continuing with the other.

oh my god, look at the size of the shuttles. and the detail is amazing. i take my hat off to mark. that is just fantastic.

The last parts have arrived. I rimmed the bottom section with red acrylic so no wiring could be seen between the two-base section, this was also illuminated. I have repainted the Bussard’s to tone down the orange, which also gives a better effect when they are lit up. Rather than use the decals for the little navigation lights on each nacelle, I have used fiber optic cables to light them up. All the electronics have now been fitted and cables were placed in readiness for the final fit. The remote was painted to represent a communicator, well almost. Piecing all the parts together was particularly challenging, making sure all the cables were in the right place. My lovely assistant, wife, came to help, as I would never have done it on my own. The console was also fitted with two computer cards as seen in the TV series; these also light up. The final part was to put a small brass plaque on the console. This was cut from the PE parts I had, painted black to highlight the lettering and then sanded and polished up. That’s it, all done. I will post more pictures in the finished gallery. I have also put up a video.
