Test fit the funnel by inserting the tabs into the two holes in the boiler room roof.

Prepare and paint the cannon provided with this stage and then add a shoulder pad in the same way you fitted the others.

Stage 56 contents:-
Wooden strips and etch skylights.

If you already have not already done so use filler to fill any gaps in the hull and sand it smooth.

Next take one of the 0.6 x 7 x 250 strips and glue it to the bow the top of the strip should be inline with the lower edge of the upper bulwarks and the strip end should be positioned between the tenth and eleventh portholes. Continue the row aft and curve the strip up to match the curve of the stern.

Begin a second row of strips below the one just laid starting with a half strip and again working backwards to the stern make sure to mark where the portholes are as you lay the strips. Start the third row of strips with a half plank keeping the strip joints in line with the ones above it. Once that is complete start row 4 and take it back to the stern. Trim the ends of the four strips laid at the stern so they half cover the false keel. Lay a fifth row of strips but do not add the last strip to the stern.

Cut the strips to match the curve of the bow and then repeat the above on the other side of the hull. When the five strips are laid use small pieces of strip to fill in the gaps at the stern and trim any excess from the bow.
