Another little bit done here. I'm miles behind everyone else - too many projects on the go at once. lol.

First, thinned down the upper edges of the intake box by dragging a knife blade over them. I thought they looked a bit thick and not very realistic. Once done, the tray was resprayed silver.

I also did the same to the carb top cover to thin the edges before spraying it a gunmetal grey - the same as is on my friends car.

All good stuff as usual Roy and those thinned edges really do make a huge difference to the overall appearance, much more 'in scale'.

Well done, looking good. Cool ThumpUp

Thanks for looking in and the kind comments. Always much appreciated.

A bit out of step here - I've added replacement gauge decals to the dashboard. These gauges are taken from a genuine '60's GT40.
I also coloured the 'bulb' red with a marker pen to make it more noticeable.

The dash isn't in any way fixed together yet as It needs a bit of modifying to match my friends car, as well as being painted satin black.

Ok, now on to one of the major alterations.

The kit front panel isn't the same as the one on the car I'm basing the model on.
The kit part has one wide opening. I need a panel with two separate openings and a flared section up the centre.

I had my friend vac form a new bonnet section for me and then the alterations were made using plastic sheet and filler.
Not finished yet, but it's getting there...

Panel laying on the front of the car. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.
Strange how two different angles in the pics makes the blue look totally different.
The 2nd pic is much closer to the actual colour.
