Great news! Even better if they will bring it to the USA. I'd be in automatically. DeAgostini, make it happen please!

Be interesting to see how big.
Previous 'other' UK loco's (Mallard, Flying Scotsman) have been 'O' gauge.
Too small for me...

I agree with you, it has to be at least 1/32 (G scale), or better yet, 1/24 scale, to be in line with the D51 and C57. Nothing less.

Here's a tidbit of info for you.

https://plaza.rakuten.co...w01/diary/202004300000/

1/32 scale. 1.3 meters long or 51 3/16 inches. Locomotive and two cars plus figures.

The above link is a good place to keep up with coming partswork kits and past ones.

Forget the stupid trial run! It's Harry Potter! It's the Hogwart's Express! How is that going to be a bad thing? Just release it world wide, it will sell.

I agree Christopher. If they aggressively promoted it the HP fans would rise up to the challenge. And why are they doing a trial in Japan when the HP world was created in Britain. A decision made by committee? Fingers crossed.

C`mon guys. Confused

You have to be a little realistic with "WHO" will purchase this sort of build.

Many HP fans are not of an age capable of building such a model, add to that how many parents of those fans would spend the average amount of one of these builds for their kids to get bored with it half way through?

Then there`s the production of such a kit. UK manufacturing hasn`t been able to produce things on this scale for a very long time. Hence production is sourced from the likes of Japanese industry.

All of these subscription kits go on test to seek out "IF" the market value of the item is worth putting into full production and even then nothing is certain.

For the record, I`d love to build this kit if it came to the point of being available and to that end I`m keeping my fingers crossed. Unfortunately its not as easy as it seems.Crying Crying

Is it an easy to build screw-together kit like x-wing or something for more experienced modellers like Mallard or Altaya pacific (in France)(metal or wood)? I struggle to translate from the japanese link.

I would be excited with the latter

Here are a few pictures of what you get in Pack 1. Scroll down a bit to view the pictures. The parts look similar in style to the D51 locomotive partworks kit. So guessing brass and white metal. 1500 Yen is just shy of US $14 or 13 Euros.

I’m down for possible getting this but I would prefer not to have it built like the last two locomotive all those screws just ruined the kit. I would prefer the way the Scotsman and Mallard where done glue and solder.

I would look at building this as it was not the Harry Potter look, I’m not a fan of Harry potter so it would have to be done in it’s true colours.

I like the idea of the carriages, might have to buy extras so I can add them to my other O gauge locos.

I guess it will appeal to Harry Potter fans but for me its another “annoying one” where you have to go premium to really get the proper end build.

Loco plus carriages in the number of issues they mention tends to suggest (and i could well be proved wrong with a box-load of parts-per issue) Little build detail.

Maybe just me but nothing seems to be Grabbing my attention at the moment.

Agora models for months have been “tempting us” with pictures of cloth covered models and today their next release is the Hachette Bismarck.

Beginning to think this whole part-works thing is beginning to fall apart from what is was a few years ago.

I guess costs and return on investment are a major player.

Looks like England and Ireland grab the privilege of starting this one. But a thirty month subscription is too long IMHO.
