Hi all, as a little light relief from the Cutty Sark I wanted to build something I've never done before, has anyone built a robot before. I've ordered a gundam from bandai (the last of their kits I built was the Pendle princess and the rolls Royce balloon car) (both amazing kits) sadly no longer produced. If this kit is any where near as good as those kits were it will be great. I intending to do it (as I love all things old and rusty) neglected in a field somewhere. Looking forward to its arrival. Ken's the name modeling's the game.

Hi Ken , I believe a gundam is some kind of large piloted mech from a Japanese anime series gundam wing . I think there is a build log of one somewhere on this forum . Man he took his time in the sun Had a dream to understand A single grain of sand He gave birth to poetry But one day will cease to be Greet the last light of the library...We were here!

This Korean website ( Dalong) basically contains all review (from parts to finished products) on all ranges of Gundam model kits from Bandai and another major brand Kotobukiya. Bandai has three main series that are fun to build: Real Grade (RG) is a high-detailed 1/144 scale series that is about 5-6 inches tall. Master Grade (MG) is good-detailed 1/100 scale series that is about 8 inches tall. The best series is Perfect Grade (PG) is very high-detailed 1/60 scale series that is about 12 inches tall. PG and RG are probably the most interesting series. Earlier PG models have a highly detailed internal frame like this one: If you are willing to spend some time to weather the frame and to spray the armour, the finished model can be amazing. I think it's a Master Grade. It's very fun to build and can easily kill 4 hours (just snap the parts togetehr) to a few days (some weathering and applying the decals) to a few weeks (spray paint the frame and the armour) of time, depending on how much detailing works you want.
