Hi Phil,

Can you post some photos of your build and memeber might be able to assist, I don't seem to recall Magpie1812 having such problems?

Hi fellow shipmates,i had adelivery today containing the deck plates for the Surprise, and they fit 1st time, just had to trim about 2mm of the aft part of the stern decking but apart from that all went well, the only thing i didn't get were the nails, got some of my own,now the question is,what is the best way to put a nail close to the rib to hold the deck on the curve of the ribs,it could be that my pins are to long at 7mm,ant answeres greatfully received. Thanks,PhilBigGrin

Hi Phil,

Best way is mark and centre line of each cutout, lay the front section of the deck in place, then pin in place from front to back a rib at a time always checking the centre line.
7mm pins are no problem mate.

Check on my build which way I have done it.
