Phil,
I can't think of any more ways to say what a stunning build this is.
Some of my "small" details would dwarf yours and your accuracy is remarkable.
You must have the patience of a saint.
Well done that man.

Hi Phil, BigGrin

More great detailing.Cool Cool Cool

I think all of us modellers could be classed as having a little madness, but from that madness comes the little bit of genius of which this build has it by the bucket load.

WTG

Eagerly awaiting your next update.Drool Drool

That concludes this weeks update. Next week will see the starboard main motor fitted before adding a hinged hatch and a few other details. After that, probably spanning 3 to 4 weeks, i can concentrate on the port switchboard, as well as adding figures and other details such as buckets and mops. By then, the home run to completion will be very close!BigGrin

Thanks for looking in guys, as always, much appreciated! I must admit my time on the forum has been minimal for a while and something i will address in the future. I intend to spend a bit more time checking out all of your builds properly. It's making the time and that is something i have been short of lately!BigGrin Love

Phil W.

Phil

That looks very neat.

I love how you can scratch build to Scale - that must take some doing when you are having to design all the small bits yourself.

You must be one of Plastruts best customers at the moment with all those hand built parts.

Hope it continues as well as its been going.

Tony

Happy Modelling

Thank you very much Tony!BigGrin I do have to spend quite a bit of time just studying photos, especially the ones of U995. Making things to scale, i tend to measure a reference point on U995 that relates to what i'm making by placing a 6" rule against the screen of my laptop. I then measure that same reference point on my model to give me a ratio between the two. I can then apply this ratio to all subsequent measurements!Confused

Granted, i've been buying Plastruct for over 10 years, so have a great spares box. The profiles and shapes are just fantastic for modelling. Plus i keep a lot of sprues from model kits and various other bits and bobs.

Phil W.
