The BMW is almost done so I thought I'd start this one next. The giant box is quite comical really. Without doubt the biggest kit box I've ever had in terms of length/width. The box at the bottom of the pile is the 1/12 Tamiya kit and by any standards, even that is quite a big box. Anyway, like the other Entex biggies I've recently built, this is another HUGE kit with quite basic detailing so there will be a lot of scratch stuff to add. Out of curiosity, I Googled this kit to see what currently fetches. Let's just say that some years ago you could have bought a brand new real small car for the money... Anyway, off we go... roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Well, I'm in to this one now. The main engine parts are assembled and lightly weathered with matt black and red oxide for dust/dirt. I've already added some missing wiring and painted the blue silicone connectors on the injection system and added hose clips using foil. On we go... roymattblack attached the following image(s):

CATASTROPHE.... I've just discovered that there are THREE entire frets of parts missing... Not much I can do about it as the kit cost me nothing. It will have to go on the back burner for now. Maybe I'll contemplate scratch-building all the missing bits at some stage, but there are LOTS of them...

Wow, that’s not good news. I’m sure you’ll find a way somehow, but it does take the edge of the build. Mark

A bit of extremely good news on this one - I contacted the guy where I got the kit and miraculously, he found the missing sprues in his garage! He didn't know what they were for so put them out of the way on a shelf. Now with me so I can resume the build. Wiring and pipes added to the engine as well as the large cooler attached to the turbo. Still a ton of wiring etc to add... roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Looking good! I’d love one of these, but I just can’t bring myself to even consider spending what they are going for.

Thanks chaps... I've made inroads on the suspension, steering and main floor section. All very straightforward but I've added brake hoses at the front - there weren't any even though this is gigantic. Brake hoses and pipes will need to be added at the rear. Wheels and tyres sorte and some of the lettering is sorted. Everything weathered down to look grubby... roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Looking good Roy, Wish my dragster tyres were the same size. Would make the lettering easier. I`ve never built an entex kit, some day, some day. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Having big tyres does help I must admit... Anyhoo - the wheels are now fixed to the car and WHAT a fiasco THAT was... The supplied fixing screws are WAY too thick so I had to drill out the hubs and re-thread them. Anyway, now it's time to start adding some detail to this surprisingly basic but huge model. There is literally as much interior detail as you would get on an Airfix 1/32 car kit. There really is NO WAY this kit is worth the insane sums it seems to command. It's actually 'worth' about the same as the Revell 1/8 E Type. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Thanks for looking in chaps. After a little 'staycation' to get away for a while, back again... The dash has been assembled with a suede covering on the top. All the gauges were hand painted as there are no decals supplied. I've added a bit of plumbing and wiring to the front of the car. Believe it or not, the kit comes with NOTHING in this respect. Even the hose connectors were nobbled from my own scrap bin. Incredible for a model of this size, and current value. I've also trimmed the seat in grey leather and it's in the car. The engine goes in next, and then the body. On we go... roymattblack attached the following image(s):
