So another helicopter build from a TV Series.

Airwolf I loved watching this when I was a young boy.

This is how the kit does the interior.

First job was to cut up the wall behind the pilot seats.

Side pods.

This is how the instructions tell you to fit the guns, but this is wrong as they should be the other way round top to bottom.

This is how they should be, so I switched placing the left one on the right hand side. This did mean I had to re-drill the holes for the pins.

After some small mods.

Had to extend the cannons.

Side pods also needed sanding down.

The exhaust pipes as per the kit are wrong.

Re-moded

Adding the side pods to the fuselage, poor fit all over loads of sanding and some clamps.

Greetings,

As a Big time Airwolf Fan I am always happy to see models of the Lady being made. This is looking great so far.

Are you going to put a light in the back to be able to see Dom? I like that you are using the brass for the the exhausts. Have you considered reeming out the interior to make the edge profile thinner? They would look awesome.

I will indeed be following this thread.

Hi Christopher thanks for looking in.

As to your questions I won't be adding any lights to the inside I've never bothered to add lights to my builds just becouse once there in a display case I don't touch them again just look.

I did look at reeming them out but I don't have one so instead I've been slowly filing them down a bit, there a bit sharp as I cut my finger on one the other day Blushing

Hi tigerace thanks for dropping in and the kind comments, only issue with all the scratch building is I've shifted the centre point so I've had to add some weight to the nose area will find out if I've added enough once the two half are joined.

I've also got another Helicopter from a Tv film to build can you guess what it is Confused

I like this, I remember watching this more years ago than I wish to recall. LOL LOL LOL

The other build wouldn`t be the one from the "A Team" with BA unconscious in the back due to his fear of flying????

Really enjoying this one Mustang, I've got this same kit still in the box waiting for the 'One Day' to happen!Blink
I also recovered another kit from the old garage modelling workroom a few years back, this one's still got the cellophane intact around the battered box (so no mouse invaders there!)BigGrin That kit's very loud and very Blue!Cool Cool BigGrin
Loving this one!

Looking good Ian, great to see a chopper build on the forum and one which brings back memories of years gone by too, well done! Cool

The other TV chopper wouldn't be the Bell 47 'Sioux' from 'Mash' with the bubble cockpit and bare framed fuselage would it - that would be a cool model?! Or could it be the helicopter from the US police series 'CHiPs'?

Hi Kev thanks for looking in and the kind comments.

Two great helicopters and Tv shows but sorry no the Helicopter I have only star’d in a film and was the main focus of the film.

The Bell 47 is one that I want to do, the CHiPs one I did as T.C chopper from Magnum.
