Hi Everyone

Here's some progress for July and August 2021;

* Planking the forward parts of the hull, planks need to be smoothed and filled to emulate plating, not very easy with the flare, curve and slope of the bows...Blink

* Preparing forecastle deck, windlass, anchor chain guides. They may be a bit oversize so will need to be made smaller...Glare

Hi John,

Just checked in on your build. Looking really good so far.

Scratch building from a drawing is certainly challenging, keep up the impressive work.

Hi John.
Thanks for your comment.

The handrails are laser cut card and are supplied as part of the kit. After they are glued into position I use a thin superglue to stiffen them prior to painting. Scale railings can be obtained direct from the supplier of the card kits.

The handrail for this model is 1:200

Hi Ken

Thanks for the info on the handrails, I couldn't get anything like that here but they do look great on your model...Cool

I have sourced some ready made wire handrail lengths, but they are difficult to work with especially on stairways. I'm experimenting to find best way to do them. The stanchions are flat, too, which doesn't help...Glare Blink My model is 1:160.
