Hi everyone, I have a project that I’m looking at doing soon.... Have a question and it’s this would you be interested in watching another Bandi Showman’s Engine being built, as Ken did a great job on his one. Now I’ve had this kit for many many years and also the Road Roller, but never built them because my skills didn’t match what I wanted to do with it but now I feel I can try and do it and not mess it up. Just worried now about the decals might have to hand paint the detail or look for after market bits and pieces but I’ll worry about that once I’ve got the kit down from the loft. This model has always grabbed my eye every time I see the box and so hopefully this year I’ll get into it, now the reason why I never looked at it before was I wanted to add electrics to this and back in the days we didn’t have what I needed but now electronics are smaller and better and hopefully with the help of Carl aka derbyvet on the electronics side I can achieve this. Now what I have in mine is to make this look like it’s just sitting on tick over so to speak, I’m hoping to have the following working. Smoke slowly coming out of the chimney. Alternator at the front turning, and turning the big fly wheel. (so working in reverse) Lights working around the top. Fire door open with a flickering light to simulate the fire. Plus possible some cosmetic upgrades, i.e wooden floor, wooden ceiling, pipe work, opening hatches to hide electronics and be able to service or replace them if ever needed, and a taller chimney stack so I can put the model in a case and have the smoke coming outside the case and still have the model running, and use a remote unit to start and stop the electronics like I did on my stage coach. Know electronics is not my area so that’s where Carl will hopefully help, I’ve pm him with what I wanted to use and do and he says he will look at what’s possible which is a great help so thank you so much Carl. Now the question for you all is this do you want to see another one of these kits in a diary ? My Favourite Building:- 1919 https://forum.model-spac...=339517&#post339517 -

Im definitely interested, I thought about lighting the ones around the roof but never thought of the fire door, but even the little bit I thought of doing i decided was waaay above my skill level. Personally I can't wait to see it. Ken's the name modeling's the game.

Well I had good intensions for this build, but I’ve hit a big snag. I got the kit down the other day and started to have a look at what I was going to do when I realised it wasn’t complete On checking the spurs against the instructions I’ve found that I’m missing the whole of spur D which also included the small lights. So I’m now in the position of either cancelling this build, or trying to find one on evilbay. My Favourite Building:- 1919 https://forum.model-spac...=339517&#post339517 -

Mine is no longer on the mantle piece (pics of the new grandson took precedence, I don't mind i love him to bits too especially since we can't actually see him atm) if that's all you're missing im happy to remove them all from mine and send them to you. Ken's the name modeling's the game.

Hi Ken, Thank you for the offer it’s very kind of you. I wouldn’t want you to remove anything from your model just to do mine, and as I’m missing a whole spur I think I’ll have to keep looking for a replacement kit I’ve started or un-started. I hope your search proves fruitful, Ian as it would be a shame to waste such a great idea.

Hi Mustang, I'm not sure which parts you are missing from your kit but a quick search on eBay has shown a few sales of odds and ends. I'm sure you have already had a look but good luck with the model build. Chris

Hi Captain, I will get one so this won’t be wasted, just need to get one for the right price for what I need as it’s only one spur. My Favourite Building:- 1919 https://forum.model-spac...=339517&#post339517 -

Hi Chris, I keep looking on eBay but at the moment the prices are high for them, as I’m missing the whole of D spur it’s a lot of money to buy one and then waste the rest of the kit. But I have also been thinking if I did buy a complete kit I could build this one as a forgotten relic and have a go at rusting it up like an old burn find. But I’ll have to see what I’m going to do, but it will be done but maybe not as soon as I was hoping. My Favourite Building:- 1919 https://forum.model-spac...=339517&#post339517 -
