Hi,my last visit from the postman regarding bits & pieces & models was a bit large,I have built models like this before but not as large.I am a member of a local flying club for some years have not flown for some time due to covid restriction so I brought my self a Hawker-Hurricane.Starting late this year after the Tombstone/Stagecoach builds are finished.

Hi Derek, all in one piece. The kit is manufactured by the great Tony Nijhuis he lives not too far from me, this is just the base kit I have also bought accessories, should be fun, Derek.

BigGrin Here's my latest delivery from the Postman!
I've been wanting one og these for ages, having bought a Triple Bright Light that arrived damaged Cursing However, the supplier agreed to a full refund so took the opportunity to upgrade to this newer version BigGrin
This is the Daylightcompany Luminos, a much needed source of light in my mancave.

That looks a nice piece of kit Graham. I like the long slender lamp head on it which I imagine will spread the light more evenly than the normal round lamp heads? May have to look at getting one or two of those for myself as my current ones are due for replacement soon (getting very old and tired now - that's the lamps, not me! LOL!)

That looks a very nice kit Trev and nice to see an R/C Hurricane being built instead of the usual Spitfire! Tony Nijhuis's son (Matt) used to be a junior member of our workforce at a place where I used to work up until March 2020 when Covid shut that business down. He's a nice lad as is his dad Tony and I agree, Tony has produced some amazing R/C model kits and plans in his time. He produced a very nice Short Sunderland as I recall and also a very nice all electric Lancaster with sound modules that made it sound very real! I've watched him many times down at the Hastings Model Flying Club site in East Sussex.

Good luck with the build Trev. Cool ThumpUp

Kev.

It arrived a couple of weeks ago - the full kit.
I'm hoping to make a start on it shortly.
In case you can't see the label on the box taped on top of the bulk of the kit, it's the Ferrari 312...Love

Just took delivery of a couple more aviation kits for my stash!

My new additions:

First of those kits is of a rather unusual and rarely seen aircraft, the EoN Eton TX.1/SG-38, which is a training glider used by Germany just before the Second World War to provide initial flight training for their pilots and by many other countries for quite a few years beyond that. The kit is by 'Special Hobby' contains just one sprue with some very delicate parts on it, a small PE fret and a decal sheet. Options include a couple of British 'Air Cadet' markings and although I didn't fly in one of these when I was in the Air Cadets many moons ago, it brings back happy memories for me which is why I bought it. I will be building the aircraft in the box cover scheme. The fragility of the kit will also present a nice challenge for me! I also purchased a separate aftermarket PE set for it from Brengun, and a resin pilot from CMK to enhance it further. I think I may start this one quite soon as it doesn't look like it'll be a long build!?:

The second kit is a 1:48 model from a fairly new company called 'Dora Wings', of Amelia Earharts' famous record breaking red and gold Lockheed Vega 5b. There was a recent review of this kit in 'Airfix Model World' and it looked a nice kit so I bought it. I have an interest in the Amelia Earhart story, having several books on the subject in my library and also the 'Special Hobby' 1:72 kit of the Lockheed 10 Electra that she disappeared in under mysterious, and still unknown circumstances. I may do a double build of the two kits when I get round to them. To add to the kit I have bought a couple of stencil sheets from 'New Ware' for the window glazing and the large registration numbers that go across the top of the main wing:

So, a couple of nice additions to my cabinet one day and a little taller stash to drive my wife nuts!! BigGrin
