Bit more done, had a look at the two .50 Cal's what you get in the kit is Crying so I've added the photo etch bits but I also changed some and added others.Blink

So this is the manufactures idea of the .50 Laugh

Ok so your not really going to see a lot but at least make the barrels look better.

So after adding the photo etch they looked like this, I still wasn't happy with them.

So I removed the barrels and added some better ones as these are all your going to see really.

Cockpit dash as per the kit, its not bad and once painted could look ok.

But I've cut the lip off and removed the dial and controls to add the photo etch parts.

Now that look like a cockpit dash.

The rear cargo door roof is like this, which for me needed a little tlc.

So I simply added a piece of plastic sheet, you won't really see it but it does finish it of better.

Excellent work so far on this kit Ian, looking really good, especially that interior. I haven't built many helicopters in my many years of modelling, I remember building the old Airfix 1:72 Westland Scout, Gazelle and the Puma when I was younger but nothing since. I do fancy a 1:48 Chinook though, they fly over my house regularly and would love one in my collection!

Keep up the good work Ian. Cool ThumpUp

Thanks guys for the kind comments really appreciate it. Smile

Kev I love doing Helicopters and now I know how to stowe the blades it make building these a pleasure as I don't need so much room once displayed. I know some Helicopters don't have there blades this way but does it really matter as long as the main model is 99% correct.

We get the chinook flying over our house also its great watching them at low level, where have fields near us and as so they use the area was a low level test which means there just above the roof tops Cool Cool

I also did the Airfix 1/72 Puma a coupe of years ago with some mods heres a photo of it I'll add a diary if your interested in seeing what I did to it and also the Matchbox 1/32 version with lots of mods which already has a diary on here.

I've been waiting to see how you would get on with that tricky Stars 'n' Stripes decaling on the nose Ian and you haven't disappointed, very skilfully done and perfectly lined up and equal both sides of the centre line, not easy to achieve, so well done!!

Some nice added detail along the upper fuselage too, very good work!Cool ThumpUp
