Strange, but when going on my build log to read the replies, pictures that were showing have disappeared. until I reopen the page. Don't know what's gone wrong. Happen to anyone else?

Its a common fault within the forum. Refreshing the page a few times normally resolves the issue. A pain I know but so far a resolution has not been found....

The new forum will fix this when it arrives in the summer.

Alternatively if you can’t hang out for the fix, try using a free image storage site. I started using Flickr for all my forum pics and don’t seem to have any issues with pics not loading. Well none that I’m aware of.

It is frustrating to keep having to refresh the pic heavy build logs. Bit of a Russian roulette with each refresh. :-)

Added benefits are that u can choose picture size as well.

I have to say that yes, pics not appearing is a real pain but I only generally have to do a regen maybe twice to get them showing. Except on my iPad which as far as I know, does not have regen facility?
That is, of course, if the pics have the correct extension and have been sized to an acceptable level.
I am using an Apple Mac but that shouldn't be too different from any other system.
I stand to be corrected if I'm talking rubbish again....which I usually am!!BigGrin BigGrin

Just some additional info for image newbies. Online Image libraries all have their little contentious methodologies for how to get an image into a forum.

For instance when I press share button and copy the BBcode from Flickr it gives me the following image.

MF_003 by Simon, on Flickr

Now if you don't want the image to be clickable and/or have the additional text, just remove all the text that was just pasted in, apart from the [img*]bla bla bla.jpg[/img]

And the result is you'll just be left with a clean image.

Hi All, BigGrin

Some time ago this forums members and people around the world were basically held to ransom by "Photobucket".

Photobucket decided to charge extortionate fees for storing and allowing the posting of pictures and people lost access to their pics if they didn`t pay.

Google managed to put up a temporary patch so people could get their pics back, which I managed to do in time before Photobucket blocked the extension.

It took me over two months to put all my posts back as they were and there are still some on this forum from others that have never been restored.

I`m not saying do not use storage apps, but make sure you have your pics in more than one place just in case the same thing should happen again.

For those who have been around the forum for a while you may well remember seeing diaries with the image below in place of the posted pics. (You may have to refresh the page to see the pic below as I won`t use storage apps for the above reasons)
