Issue 46 - Contains the underbody panel and nose cowl, and has instruction for Stage 1 of the underbody panelling - Fitting the sidepod cowls and attaching the nose cowl.

Fitting the sidepod cowls - Take the underbody you assembled in issue 40 and test fit the right lower sidepod cowl you received in issue 45 and a type 'C' screw.
Locate the contact edges and the two fixing points, then scrape the paint off the contact edges as shown in the steps.
Carefully apply ABS glue and fit the sidepod into place, then insert a type 'C' screw into the large fixing hole and tighten into place.

Repeat the process for the left lower sidepod cowl.

Attaching the nose cowl - Test fit the V-shaped nose cowl to the underbody and sidepod cowls to locate the contact areas, then carefully scrape the paint from the contact areas as shown in the steps. Carefully apply ABS glue the contact points and fit nose cowl in place.

Test fit the nose panel to identify the contact points, then scrape the paint as shown in the steps.

Carefully apply ABS glue to the contact pints and fit the nose panel in place, securing it with a type 'C' screw. Use masking tape to to retain the aft edge alignment.

That's it for this week, carefully store the assembly.

Issue 47 - Contains cockpit parts and Stage 1 of the cockpit internal assembly - Assembling the left upper and lower switch panels and assembling the battery.

Assembling the upper left switch panel - Carefully separate the upper left switch panel and lever from the sprue, making sure that the lever is cut as shown in the steps.

Apply a little ABS glue to the lever and carefully press it into place on the panel, make sure that it is correctly oriented.

Assembling the battery - Carefully separate the battery and connector from the sprue. Apply a little ABS glue to the end of the connector and fix in lace upon the battery ensuring that the connector is correctly oriented.

Attaching the lower switch panels - Separate both switch panels from the sprue and test-fit them in place on the cockpit under panel to familiarise yourself with the fit, ensure both are placed so that the two circles upon the parts face outwards, then glue them into place.

Carefully separate the remaining parts from the sprue and store them and the assembly made.

That's it for this week

Issue 48 - Contains the front and rear cockpit frames & seat mount., and has instructions for Stage 2 of the cockpit internal assembly - Attaching the rear cockpit frame and seat mount.

Attaching the rear cockpit frame - Take the cockpit you assembled in issue 44, then take the cockpit frame and cut away the long sprue which spans the top.

Test-fit the rear cockpit frame and identify the contact lines, then carefully apply ABS glue to the contact lines and fix the frame in place, yo can use masking tape to hold them together whilst the glue sets.

Attaching the seat mount - Take the underbody that you assembled in issue 44, and then remove the four screws which hold the cockpit base in place within the cockpit, thus releasing the base from the cockpit. (Carefully store the screws as you will be needing them later on but not in this issue).

Temporarily fit the cockpit base onto the underbody so that the 11 holes in the base of the underbody - DO NOT glue them together.
With the cockpit base in place, take the seat mount and locate the mount points - You need to slide the two outside small tabs of the mount into the corresponding slots in the underbody.

The seat mount should be glued to the cockpit base NOT the underbody, glue needs to be applied to the two long tabs of the seat mount, the mount is then fitted back into place ensuring that the two short tabs on the seat mount locate into the corresponding slots in the underbody.
Basically after gluing the two long tabs to the cockpit base, you should be able to remove the seat mount and cockpit base from the undertray as a fixed together item.

That's it for this week, carefully store the underbody assembly, cockpit and cockpit front frame.

Future issues:

Issue 49 - Contains the left/right radiator and radiator hoses., and has instructions for Stage 3 of the cockpit internal assembly - refitting of the cockpit base, fitting the left/right cockpit parts and fitting the drivers bottle.

Issue 50 - Contains the left & right radiator mounts., and has instructions for joining the radiator hoses, preparing the hose attachments and fitting of the radiators to the mounts.

Issue 51 - Contains brake calipers & caliper diffusers., and has instructions for attaching the rear caliper diffusers and attaching the front & rear calipers.

Issue 52 - Contains a rear wheel rim., and has instructions for preparing and fitting the wheel spacers.

Issue 49 - Contains the left/right radiator and radiator hoses., and has instructions for Stage 3 of the cockpit internal assembly - refitting of the cockpit base, fitting the left/right cockpit parts and fitting the drivers bottle.

Carefully store this weeks parts.

Refitting the cockpit base - Remove the cockpit base together with the seat mount from the underbody and refit the unit into the cockpit, and insert the four screws you removed in issue 48.

Fitting the left and right cockpit parts - These parts were supplied in issue 47.
Fit and glue the left part beside the seat mount, be very careful of applying excess glue into the two mount holes which are thru holes, as the glue maybe forced to the outside surface.
Fit the right hand part in the same manner.

Fitting the drivers bottle - The bottle was supplied in issue 47.
Test-fit it beside the seat mount and identify the contact points. Apply a little ABS glue to the forward mount point and the V-shaped notch in the underside of the seat mount, then fix the bottle into place.

That's it for this week, carefully store the assembly.

Future issues:

Issue 50 - Contains the left & right radiator mounts., and has instructions for joining the radiator hoses, preparing the hose attachments and fitting of the radiators to the mounts.

Issue 51 - Contains brake calipers & caliper diffusers., and has instructions for attaching the rear caliper diffusers, attaching the front and rear calipers.

Issue 52 - Contains a rear wheel rim., and has instructions for preparing and fitting the wheel spacers.

Issue 53 - Contains a rear tyre, silicone oil and protective bag., and has instructions for treating and storing the tyres.

Issue 50 - Contains the left & right radiator mounts., and has instructions for joining the radiator hoses, preparing the hose attachments and fitting of the radiators to the mounts.

Joining the radiator hoses - Take the left long and short radiator hoses from issue 49. Note the tab on the short hose and the U-shaped socket of the long hose - ensure they are correctly aligned as shown in the steps.
Scrape the paint at the points shown then glue the short hose onto the long hose, then repeat the process with the right-hand radiator hose parts.

Fitting the radiators to the mounts - Take the left radiator mount and the left radiator supplied with issue 49. Test-fit them together to check the contact points, then apply a little ABS glue and fix them together. Repeat the process with the right-hand radiator mount & radiator.

Preparing the hose attachments - Test-fit the mounts of the radiator hoses to both radiators to check the contact points, then carefully scrape off the paint between the two holes on the radiator - do not glue the hose mounts to the radiators yet.

That's it for this week, carefully store the assembly.

Future issues:

Issue 51 - Contains brake calipers & caliper diffusers., and has instructions for attaching the rear caliper diffusers, attaching the front and rear calipers.

Issue 52 - Contains a rear wheel rim., and has instructions for preparing and fitting the wheel spacers.

Issue 53 - Contains a rear tyre, silicone oil and protective bag., and has instructions for treating and storing the tyres.
