Hi,BigGrin

Looking very good Cool Cool , if I may what adhesive are you using for the Perspex sheeting ?

I always used channelled wood strip on the vertical corners, but even as small as I`ve used they do get in the way of your view. Blink

Hi Derek,
I use a purpose made acrylic adhesive that actually melts the edges together. Care must be taken to prevent over spill but I don't think that would be a problem for you!!. The wooden frame is 2 flat pieces of wood super glued to the edges purely for cosmetics to cover the bonded edges.
Also I use a thin acrylic sheet which obviously helps reduce the corner wood size. Attached is a pic of adhesive tube.

Hi, Well I have the case finished, just needs a cleanup of all the dust and it will be ready to display. I foundan old pic of Manchester city centre andwasgoing to paint a background of it for the Rocket, but I decided to look through my pile of acrylic painting I have, (another hobby of mine) and found a country scene that was suitable..................so, I trimmed it to size and that will now be my background pic, just need to get some 2 sided tape to hold it in place.
've added a couple of pics to show nearly finished display, hope you like it.

I took the dog a walk this morning on the look out for some fine roadside gravel. Success, found enough loose gravel to fillin under the tracks. Washed, filtered and mildly sorted and the end result was better than I expected.
While the gravel was still wet after draining I added wood glue and proceeded to spread on base.
Should be dry tomorrow.

Finished!!!! bit sad really, this was a fun model to build. Here's a final pic of the complete ensemble, like all the great masterpieces, best viewed from a distance.
