The 'other' kit I'm going to start along with the big Pocher, so that will be two Alfa's on the go! This is a 1/12 kerbside kit of the 1972 Alfa GTA that won umpteen races in its day. It's from ABC Brianza and for some odd reason, these simple kitas fetch silly money. There are literally about 50 parts to it. Very cleanly moulded body shell which needed minimal clean up around the bottom, the arches and the window openings. After a good soapy scrub and dry it's had a fine rub with 1000 grit and it's now in primer. With luck, this will be a simple build after the previous broken nightmare. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

After the great job you did with the 250 SWB I’m sure this will be great, any ideas on paint and livery Roy.

After masking the front end of the body, it's now had 5-6 coats of red, 1000 grit sanding between coats. Masking removed so I can now mask it the other way around to paint the white front section. On we go... roymattblack attached the following image(s):

After more masking, the white section at the front has been painted. The kit actually supplies decals for this but I prefer paint. Polishing needed when it's fully dry - another few days. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

This has been sitting to one side just lately but I'm back on it again now. The side window frames and glazing was fairly easy as it's all pretty much flat. The front and rear were a different kettle of fish. The etched frames are flat as supplied and have be bent to fit. Then the thin clear plastic is fixed to the inside of the frame, and then trimmed around. Then the fun began. Yet another un-symmetrical body so that no matter what you try, the etched metal frame of the window actually only 'fits where it touches'. It was in the end, a compromise. To make the frames fit properly, they would need to be twisted from opposite corners. OK, easy enough but then it creates huge creases and wrinkles in the glazing. The only option was to have the front and rear screens 'approximately' in the right place. Not too bad in the end but not really satisfactory. Blasted obscure resin kits! roymattblack attached the following image(s):

A tad more this afternoon. Assorted lights and grilles now in place. Wheels/tyres next, then put the bits together. Decals after that. On the home straight now. roymattblack attached the following image(s):
