Good day friends,

This is a trick for mounting tires on wheels. Most suggestions say to use hot or boiling water to soften the tire - I say no, as this will leave water/moisture trapped inside. Or you can hold a noisy hair dryer and wave it back and forth for several minutes.

The best method? A heating pad. Place on high, fold the pad in half and place the tire inside. I just tried it and it works perfectly. No noise, no water. Give it a try.

Yes, the cover could use a wash.

Sounds good but I do use the almost-boiling water method.
I just dry the tyre inside and out before pressing the wheel into it.
The heat of the tyre will dry any remaing moisture.
Always worked for me - even the terrible (concrete) Mustang tyres.

I use the boiling water trick as well. Usually, after a quick wipe down, the heat evaporates any remaining moisture quickly.

The heating pad method sounds less messy though!

Best,

Plug the pad in, fold it over, tuck the tire/s in, wait a bit and your done. No heating water, soaking and especially wiping excess water off. So simple. Just did the third wheel/tire for the Mercedes-Benz W196R. Works a charm.

Weekend's almost here. Enjoy.
