Hi All, BigGrin

Ok, here we go with the start of pack 4 with issue 11. In this issue we will continue with the right shoulder construction and by the time we finish issue 14, we will have a completed right arm with the previously built hand attached.Cool

As per the usual format, Pic 1 shows the parts supplied with this issue.

Info: Before the construction starts it needs to be noted that the springs supplied with this issue have different ends. Shown in Pic 2.

Enough waffle, lets get on with this. LOL

Collect together the shoulder joint from the previous stage and the two springs and two HP screws supplied with this issue. Pic 3

Now, using an HP screw fix a spring (with the coils facing away from the shoulder joint and the screw through the enclosed hole of the spring) to one side of the shoulder joint, but do not fully tighten the screw yet. Pic 4.

Now repeat this process on the other side of the shoulder joint. Pic 5.

Before starting the next stage refer to Pic 6 and install the Frame and carefully connect the two open spring ends onto the frame pivots. I used a pair of pointed nose pliers to achieve this and it seemed to work well. You can now tighten the two screws retaining the spring ends, but be careful not to distort the springs in the process.

The sides of the shoulder joint now have their domed covers fitted. Pics 7 and 8. Note that the locating pins of the covers are of different sizes, so the covers will only fit on one side. Once this stage is complete the frame should be able to be pulled out from the shoulder joint (carefully) and return to its starting position under the spring pressure. Indicated in Pic 8.

That concludes this issue, but you will need the shoulder joint and the part 11E saved from a previous issue to continue the next stage that`s coming soon. Pic 9 BigGrin BigGrin

Here we are again folks. BigGrin

I have now completed stages 12 - 14, so will be posting them over the next few days and these issues finish the right arm.

I am also in receipt of the next pack so will be busy getting it ready for the next updates. Issues 15 - 18 will build up the left arms elbow and forearm, so will be a shorter update as it is just a mirror image of previous issues.

So, onto issue 12:

Here we build the upper right arm and connect the elbow to the shoulder joint (made in previous issue).

Parts supplied are shown in Pic 1. Please note that there are four adhesive stickers supplied, but you will only be using two. I don`t know at this stage if the other two are spares or they are to be used at a later stage, so keep them safe and undamaged.

Start by putting an adhesive sticker in place on both of the upper arm pieces, using a pair of tweezers to minimise the contact with the adhesive. The result is shown in Pics 2 and 3.

TIP: I cleaned the surfaces where the stickers are placed with a cotton bud prior to applying the stickers to remove any skin oil from the surfaces and pressed them in place with another one.

To continue, place the lower arm onto the upper outer arm cover engaging the pillar mounting points so the screw hole lines up between the elbow joint and outer arm cover as shown in Pic 4. Then insert an EM screw to secure the parts together as shown in Pic 5.

For the next part of the build you will need to recover the shoulder joint and joint fastener from previous stages.

Position the shoulder joint as shown in Pic 6. Then secure it using the joint fastener and two EM screws as shown in Pic 7.

The last step for this issue is to put the Inner Arm Cover in position and secure it with two EM screws. Pic 8.

The completed arm as it is at this stage is shown in Pic 9.

Until the next update stay safe.

Hi All, BigGrin

As things are going apace at the moment, here`s the update for Issue 13.ThumpUp

In this issue we will complete the upper arm and make the connection for fitting the shoulder armour plates.

The parts supplied are shown in Pic 1.

The next task is to fit the Arm plate. CAUTION: When fitting this part, the locating pins are quite long and the two parts must be brought together in line or there is a chance you could break them, so press them together carefully. Pic 2.

Next thing to do is position the shoulder support and hold it in place as shown in Pic 3. Follow on immediately by putting the spring in place, using the orientation shown in Pic 4 and finally feed the shoulder frame pin through all the parts as in Pic 5.

At this point you should be able to push the shoulder support away from the shoulder joint against the spring pressure Pic 6 and the support should return under the spring pressure when you release it. Pic 7.

That ends this issue as shown in Pic 8.

TIP: If you are not moving straight on to the next issue it may be advisable to put some low tack tape around the shoulder frame pin to stop the parts from falling apart.

See you soon for issue 14. BigGrin

Hi All, BigGrin

So, here we are with the last issue of this pack, Issue 14.

In this issue we will finish the right arm of the armour, by assembling and attaching the shoulder plates and complete the arm by attaching the right hand that was produced in an earlier issue. Cool

Parts supplied with this issue, are as always shown in Pic 1.

Place the inner shoulder plate on your work surface as shown in Pic 2, then position the outer shoulder plate next to it as shown in Pic 3.

Tip: The next three stages of this construction are duplicated on both sides of the shoulder armour. As I`m only human with two hands, I completed one side at a time. LOL LOL Just be sure that when you move on to the second side, you don`t put strain on the side already completed.Blink

So, for each side fit a shoulder pivot in place noting that there is a keyway and slot that locks the pivot in place. Pic 4. Then fix the pivot in place from the outside using a GM screw. Pic 5. Now finish this side by covering the screw with a shoulder cap. Pic 6. Then repeat on the other side.

The next thing to do is connect the shoulder armour plates to the arm. To achieve this, position the arm and shoulder plates as shown in Pic 7. Then press the shoulder support against the spring pressure and align it in between the lugs inside the shoulder plate and fix it in position with two IP screws as shown in Pic 8.

This completes the right arm as per Pic 9, but we continue to connect the right hand.

The right hand to the wrist connection is a press fit. I found that by laying the parts as shown in Pic 10 that by keeping the parts flat on the nice soft towel, that I could press the parts together quite easily. Pic 11.

To complete this issue, put the magnetic hand plate in place and as they say "jobs a goodun". Pic 12.

The completed arm with hand attached is shown in Pic 13.

That`s all for know. BigGrin I have started construction of the next pack which covers issues 15 - 18, where work will start on the Left Arm.

Until then take care and have fun.
