Hi All, BigGrin

Well while I`ve got the chance, thought I`d post the next Ironman update for Issue 63. Blink

Starting this pack we will construct the Calf Armour Plate for the right leg.

Pic 1 shows the parts supplied.

Pic 2 shows you the orientation of the two parts of the calf hinge and where to secure the hinge together using two LP screws.

Now locate the hinge in its place as shown in Pic 3 and secure it with two EM screws as in Pic 4.

Well that`s all for this issue. Pic 5.

See you soon for the next updates issues 64 - 66.

Hi All, I`m back BigGrin

It`s UPDATE time. This one is for issue 64 where the Upper Shin Plate is attached to the right leg, all parts supplied are shown in Pic 1.

Start by removing the paper off one side of a piece of double sided tape the second piece is a spare) and position the tape inside the upper shin plate as shown in Pic 2.

Having removed the other paper from the double sided tape, carefully position the plate into position. Note: care must be taken when fitting the shin plate as the curved sections at the top of the plate have to be flexed outwards to fit the part. Pic 3 shows the location indicated by the yellow lines and Pic 4 the part in place.

Along with the double sided tape the shin plate is fixed using two EM screws as indicated in Pics 5 and 6.

To finish press fit the right and left gold side plates, noting they will only fit on their correct sides. Shown in Pics 7 and 8.

That`s it for this update, but be sure to keep the Hip Joint Cover safe for use in a later stage. Pic 9

Hi All, BigGrin

This is the update for Issue 65 and it seems we have turned a corner, in as much that we are now starting on the middle of the armour.

In this issue we will construct the Central Leg Support. Not a lot to do, but it can be a bit fiddley so take care with positioning the parts.Blink

Bored Bored Parts supplied in Pic 1.

Make a start by positioning the spring onto the post at the end of the Spring Holder. Pic 2.

Now this is the "fiddley" bit.Blink

Place the Leg Support 2 (65B) with the flat side on the work surface. Then whilst holding the spring and its holder together, place them into position inside the Leg Support as shown in Pic 3.

Finally, making sure that the Spring and its Holder stay in the correct position, place the other Central Leg Support (65A) on top. With all the parts aligned the assembly can be fixed together as shown in Pic 4 by three LP screws. Note: As also shown in Pic 4 the assembly will not close together unless the pivot pin of the Spring Holder is in the correct place as shown.

So, that`s it for this update. Issue 66 will be up soon at which point we will have completed another pack.Woot Woot Woot Woot

Take care and be nice to each other.BigGrin

Hi Everyone, BigGrin

Well, here we go with the update for Issue 66, the last for this pack.Cool This is the Central Leg Support Part 2.

Like the last update, not a lot to do but a little fiddley. Part positioning is critical though.

Parts supplied are shown in Pic 1.

To start, position the Shell with the inside surface facing up and position the spring onto the pin as shown in Pic 2.

Bring the Support for the Spring to the table and note that one side has a pin inside a circle. this side is the underside that will sit on top of the spring you just positioned inside of the Shell.

Then following the orientation of Pic 3, position the Spring Support over the Spring and secure it using two BP screws. The yellow lines emphasise the angled ends of the Support. Having tightened the two BP screws, check that the Spring is securely located, exactly as shown in Pic 4.

That completes this update, so keep the two rotational bases (numbered 1 and 2 in the instructions) safely for use at a later stage. Pic 5.

I found that the assembly just made and the unused parts fit nicely back into the plastic moulds they came in. Can`t get much safer than that.Blink

Keep safe and well. Hope to see you all again soon for the update of Issue 67 which starts the next pack.ThumpUp Woot ThumpUp
