Hi All, BigGrin BigGrin

Here I am with the start of the next pack, that covers Issues 75 - 78. That will leave only 22 issues. I`m looking forward to bringing all the assemblies together that we have built so far.
It`s gonna be a busy session when that happens. Blink Drool Blink

So, on with Issue 75. The Right shoulder Armour.

Supplied parts are shown in Pic 1.

Position the two shoulder plates supplied with this issue, so the hinge parts come together and fix them together using an RP screw as shown in Pic 2. Note: the screw should be tight enough so that the parts can move, but stay where you choose to place them.

Now press fit the finishing detail into place on the rear shoulder plate. Pic 3.

Bring the chest assembly (Issue 74) back to the work area and position the shoulder plates next to it as shown in Pic 4. You will see from the double ended arrow in this pic that the tab on the shoulder plate, will fit into the slot in the chest armour when you turn the shoulder plates over. Pic 5.

Then whilst holding the parts together, turn the assembly over and fix the parts together, using an EM screw as shown in Pic 6. Tighten the screw carefully, so that the plates do not move, but don`t over tighten and strip the thread.

That concludes this update as shown in Pic 7.

See you all soon for the next update for Issue 76.

Hi Again, BigGrin BigGrin

I`m busy, busy at the moment. Outside of the forum I`ve just moved my cruiser to a residential mooring, (NO I`M NOT MOVING)LOL Couldn`t fit the stash on a 27ft cruiser. The new mooring needs a lot of clean - up and then I`ve got to get it how I want. Blink

So with parts arriving and delayed parts for the Infinity Gauntlet also turning up today, lets say I`ve a fair bit to do.

Anyway, here we go with the update for Issue 76.

This update replicates the one for Issue 75, except that its for the left hand side, so a mirror image.

Parts supplied shown in Pic 1.

Bring the hinge sides of the shoulder parts together and secure the hinge using an RP screw, then fit the detailing part into the rear plate. Pic 2.

Position the tab on the inside of the left shoulder plate through the chest assembly in the same manner as shown in Issue 75 and fix it in place using an EM screw. Pic 3.

That concludes this update and your chest assembly should now look like the one shown in Pic 4. Both rear shoulder plates should now move and stay in the position that you place them in.

See you soon for the update of Issue 77.Cool

Take care,

Regards

Hi All, BigGrin BigGrin

Here we get onto the next update of the Ironman Build with Issue 77 . In this issue we start to construct the centre chest unit. This unit will support and allow the rotation/movement of the arms.

Supplied parts as always shown in Pic 1.

This is an easy assembly issue, so start by bringing together the parts 77A and 77B as shown in Pic 2.

Attach the two parts together using two LP screws as shown in Pic 3.

Blink Blink Well that`s it for this issue as shown in the final Pic 4.

Update for Issue 78 and the closure of this Pack coming soon. Cool Cool

Update time again. BigGrin

Hi All, this is the update for Issue 78 and will be the last for this pack. I`m already working on the next pack (Issues 79 - 82), which will leave only 18 more issues to get to the finish line. Blink

Parts supplied as always in Pic 1.

Start by bringing the end assembly from Issue 77 to the table and note that the raised ring on the end, has a small cut-out in it as shown in Pic 2.

Position the Right Shoulder Joint Casing (78A) onto the end of the assembly, ensuring that it locks in place with the cut-out mentioned. Pic 3. Then fix it in place using a QP screw. Pic 4.

Now insert the friction block (78C) over the QP screw just installed, with the concave face upwards. Pic 5. This process makes the first half of a ball and socket joint for a shoulder.

To create the second half of the ball and socket joint, pass the right shoulder joint ball (78D) through the right shoulder joint socket as shown in Pic 6. Also take note that the socket has a locating pin on its underside. Pic 7.

Now, CAUTION is Required: You have to bring the two halves of the ball and socket joint together. Lining up the three screw holes and locating the pin properly in place. Carefully using 3 x LP screws, turning each a bit at a time in order around the joint, you will draw the two halves of the ball and socket joint together. Pic 8. DO NOT fully tighten these three screws, but tighten enough so that the ball of the joint still moves with some applied pressure. The joint should remain in any position you leave it in. Referring to Pic 9 you will see that a small gap is visible between the two outer hales of the socket (single ended arrow) with the ability to move the ball joint inner part as shown by the double ended arrow.

That ends this update and pack, Pic 10 shows the finished assembly and includes the part 78E that will be used in a later stage.

See you all soon, with the next update. Take care.
