Ceiling Panel, Bathtub, Bath Feet, Picture 1.
Assembling the First Floor Ceiling.
Join the ceiling panel with the panel you received in issue 36 and join the two pieces together using wood glue, pictures 2 and 3. Use tape to hold it in place. Note: I used a flat surface and placed a tin of paint on the top to keep it flat whilst drying.
The magazine tells you to stain the ceiling using brown paint, but as before I have painted mine white, picture 4.
Assembling the Bathtub
Before I started the assembly, I painted the feet with a black oil paint and rubbed the excess paint off to give it a more realistic old brass look, picture 5.
Detach the 2 feet parts marked 1 and attach each foot at the wide end of the bath using quick drying glue, picture 6. Detach the number 2 parts and fix at the other end of the bathtub.
The final picture shows the complete assembly.
That completes this issue.

Ceiling Beams x 6 Parts, Bedroom Cabinet Parts, Picture 1.
Assembling the Bathroom Cabinet.
Picture 2 shows the bathroom cabinet parts to complete the cabinet assembly. Using a kraft knife, separate the doors and parts from the panel. As before sand the edges to remove the laser burns, picture 3.
Attach the back of the drawer with wood glue as shown in picture 4, then attach the front of the drawer, picture 5. Do the same to the other drawer. Picture 6 shows the assembly of both drawers.
Paint these parts in the same way as you did with the bathroom cabinet in the previous issues, picture 7.
Take the cabinet assembly from issue 36 and place the handles in the doors and drawers using quick drying glue, picture 8.
Using wood glue attach the feet as shown in picture 9.
Insert one of the pins into the bottom of the right-hand door, picture 10.
Note: I found that the pin went in too far in the hole and only left a small part of it showing. I used quick drying glue to hold the pin in place keeping half the height of the pin showing.
Place the door and pin into the cabinet as shown in picture 11.
Using a pair of tweezers take another pin and push it through the hole between the drawer housing, and into the top of the door, picture 12.
Note: I would recommend using a tray when fitting these pins as they are very small and quite fiddly to apply. Should you drop one of them, it is easier to look in the tray rather than the carpet monster, never to be seen again.
Do the same with the other door, and once you’ve assembled both doors, fit the drawers in place.
The final picture shows the complete assembly.
That completes part of this issue. I will be combining the remainder of this issue with part of issue 39 when we assemble the ceiling.

Issue 39 Part 1

Ceiling Beams x 2 Parts, Moominpappas Bed x 9 Parts.
Assembling the First Floor Ceiling Beams.
Gather the two ceiling beams from this issue along with the beams from the previous issue. Rather than build this construction over the two magazines, it makes sense and certainly easier to assemble it in one go.
As I did before with the ground floor beams, I cut notches along the sides of the beams to give them a more realistic look, picture 1. This is purely a choice and does not need to be done if you prefer them as they are.
Take beam “A” and beam “E” and fix them in place with wood glue as shown in picture 2. Apply glue to the end of beam “B” and fix it to the middle notch of beam “E”, picture 3. Next, apply glue to the end of beam “C” and fix it to the outermost notch of beam “E”, picture 4. Take the two beams from issue 39, picture 5. Take one of the beams “D” and fix it to the assembly as shown in picture 6.
Now take the other beam “D” along with beams “F” and “G”, picture 7. Attach beam “F” to the middle notch of beam “D” as shown in picture 8. Take beam “G” and attach it as shown in picture 9.
Next, paint the beams using the same colour as you did with the ground floor assembly. Mine is a dark brown with a black wash highlighting the grain. Allow this to fully dry, picture 10.
Take the beams and glue them according to the markings on the ceiling. Clamp them in place and allow to dry.
That completes the assembly for this issue, picture 11.

Issue 39 Part 2

Ceiling Beams x 2 Parts, Moominpappas Bed x 9 Parts.
Assembling Moominpappa’s Bed
Picture 1 shows the parts to assemble Moominpappa’s bed. Apply wood glue to the tabs of the bed base and push them into the slots in the headboard, picture 2. In the same way attach the footboard to the bed base, picture 3.
Secure the two side panels with wood glue as shown in picture 4.
Take the template from issue 31, picture 5, and aren’t you glad I told you not to throw this away.  Place the assembled bed on the top.
As you did before with Moominmamma’s bed attach the legs, with the longer legs at the headboard with the two shorter ones at the footboard, picture 6.
As before paint the bed and highlight the pattern in both the head and footboard.
That completes the assembly for this issue, picture 7.

Door and Frame Parts x 12, Door Handles x 2, Door Pins x 2, Police Inspector Character.
Assembling the Bedroom Door
Picture 1 shows the parts for this issue.
Take the door top and door bottom, along with door side “B” the one with the hole for the handle and door side A, which has a curved edge, picture 2. Using wood glue, fix the door base, the narrower part, to door panel “A” as shown in picture 3. Next, attach the centre door panel, using wood glue to fix into the grooves. Fit the door top, followed by the side door panel “B”. Note – Make sure the handle hole is nearer the bottom. Make sure it is all square and allow to dry, picture 4.
Take the four pieces of the frame, picture 5, and apply glue to the tabs on the base and push into the two side pillars. Glue the top part carefully and square the frame as shown in picture 6 and allow it to dry before moving it. Picture 7 shows the two parts glued and dried ready for the next step.
Using quick drying glue, attach the two handles to the door and place one of the pins in the top of the door frame as shown in picture 8. Push the pin into the top of the frame, picture 9 and push the second pin in the base of the door frame, making sure the pin goes into the door, picture 10.
Picture 11 show the complete assembly.
Retrieve the first-floor assembly and apply wood glue to the edge of the assembled door frame. Push this into the doorway from the room with the pink wallpaper, picture 12. Allow this to dry.
Finally, take the last three parts of the reverse door frame, picture 13 and attach them with wood glue as shown in picture 14. Place the parts so they are fractionally over the door, this is to stop the door from opening this side.
That completes the assembly for this issue, picture 15.
