Hi All,  I have today received an email which my system put into SPAM. Having read the email (system disabled links and pictures)it is a scam. It doesn`t include all the Fanhome details at the bottom of the email as is usual. The phone number they quote is also unknown when checked via Google. DO NOT access any part of this email should you receive it and only contact Fanhome/Deag via the information on your printed invoices that come with your deliveries. Hi All, Reference the initial post: It was relevant to the already notified delay on the ET subscription. I have just received confirmation that this is a legitimate email from my contacts in Deag/Fanhome, but you can never be to safe. I therefore apologise if I scared anyone. Seconded!  Well done for jumping in with the first warning, as you said, better safe than sorry! Our worst scams come from the telephone rather than emails, one thing I do if the number is not a known one is to say nothing when answering the phone - if the call is legitimate the caller will speak first but if its a dodgy call centre phoning a lot of numbers at the same time the computer will latch on to the first human voice and cancel all the others! Doesn't always work of course but if not the Telephone Preference Service quote usually gets rid of them! Good work anyway! Regarding 'phone scams, if you're unsure of a call, NEVER answer any questions with the word 'yes'.
If it's a scam, the caller will keep trying to get you to say yes.
They use your voice as a way of getting money etc, then claim that YOU did it. They even have your voice saying yes to whatever they have done...

I think it is getting very difficult to know what is and isn’t legit these days. If you hold the senders email address, ie if it says FanHome for example, it usually gives the underlying real email address. If it is something obscure, it is highly likely a scam. Well done Derek, we are all on alert.  Mark
