Hi All, BigGrin

Postie turned up this morning with pack 5, so here we are with the update for Issue 14. Cool

In this issue we start on the outer face of the passenger door (right hand side).

Parts supplied ..... Pic 1.

Position the key barrel (14G) into the door panel as shown in Pic 2. It has a flat face, so will only fit one way. Then fix it from the other side using a PS12 screw as in Pic 3.

Now construct the door mirror by positioning parts 14I and 14J together, (noting they will only fit in one orientation, due to the tab and notch shapes) and secure them using a PS09 screw Pic 4. Next fit the mirror 14K into the mirror holder, Pic 5. It`s advisable to leave the protective film in place till much later to avoid scratching the surface.

Next position the door handle (14H) into position on the door panel Pic 6, and fix that in place using a PS09 screw from the other side. Pic 7. Then whilst looking at the same side of the door panel, position the mirror and secure it using 2 x DS13 screws. Pic 8.

We now turn our attention to the door locking/unlocking mechanism. To start, position the inner lock flange 14D on the inside of the door panel, (noting that the smaller end goes to the top of the door) and fix it in position using 2 x DS13 screws. Pic 9. Then position the door release button (14C) as in Pic 10. Now place the spring 14F over the long end of the lock bar (14B) Pic 11 and then position the lock bar as shown in Pic 12. Carefully keep the lock bar in place and position the Mechanism cover 14E over it and secure it using a DS13 screw. Pic 13. Pic 14 shows the outside of the finished door lock/handle.

That`s it for this update Pic 15. ThumpUp ThumpUp

See you soon for Issue 15.

Hi All, BigGrin

Here we go with the update for Issue 15.

In this issue we will build up the inner door panel for the right hand door.

Parts supplied.... Pic 1.

Start by placing the long silver trim (15D) into its slot in the inner panel (15A), being careful as the part is thin and therefore fragile. Pic 2. Then fix it in place using 4 x PS12 screws. Pic 3.

Now position the inner door handle (15C) inside the door handle compartment (15B) as in Pic 4. Then retain the handle in place using a PS11 screw. Pic 5.

With the tip of the inner door handle facing upwards from the door handle compartment, feed the handle through the door panel until the compartment lays on the two posts inside the panel, Pic 6 and fix it in place using 2 x PS05 screws. Pic 7.

That completes this update. Pic 8.

Store the door panel safely until needed. I replaced the clear plastic shield it came in to protect the inner door button from damage.

More on the passenger door in the next update.

Take Care Cool

Hi All, BigGrin

Time for the Issue 16 update.

Parts supplied.....Pic 1.

The first task is to fit the self adhesive strip to the door. This will protect the window when wound up and down. I have shown the correct position of the strip in Pic 2. Remove the backing from the strip a little at a time as you position the strip, Pic 3 until it is fully fixed. Pic 4.

Now position the quarter light window over the posts on the inside of the door, Pic 5 and fix it in place with 2 x DS02 screws. Pic 6.

That completes this update, Pic 7.

Return the unused parts supplied into the the protective film they arrived in and keep them safe for the next update. Pic 8.

Hi All, BigGrin

Here we are again, this time with the update for Issue 17.Cool

In this issue, we will add the door hinge, the winding gears for the main window and then the main window. Parts supplied.....Pic 1. You will also need the passenger door and the parts left over from issue 16.

So, to start with the hinge. Place the main hinge part 17-D in place on the door, noting the orientation indicated by the angle of the part indicated in Pic 2. Now place the hinge bracket 17-C over the hinge and secure it using a DS02 screw. Pic 3. You should now be able to move the hinge into the closed position and it stay there, as shown in Pic 4.

We now turn our attention to the window winding mechanism.

Position the window guide base 17-A and then fix it in place using a DS02 screw as shown in Pic 5.

Next position all three gears and fix them in place using 3 x DS04 screws, as shown in Pic 6. NOTE: The keyway slot in the far left gear (nearest the hinge) will show which direction the window winder will face. If you want it to match the drivers door, move it now.

Recover the main window (16B) from the parts left over from issue 16, along with the window guide (16C).

Position the window as shown in Pic 7, ensuring the window engages fully with the guide 17A as indicated by the "yellow" circle.

The final step is to position the window guide 16C in place and secure it in place using a PS05 and DS02 screw as shown in Pic 8.

That completes this update Pic 9.

In the next and final update for this pack we will fit the door interior to the main door panel.

See you soon. ThumpUp

Hi All, BigGrin

Here we are with the update for Issue 18, the final issue for this pack.

Before we start, this is the last point at which you can match the position of the window winders on the two doors, (without undoing numerous parts). I touched on this on the last update, but will now show how to correct the position if needed. So start by noting the position of the window winder on the first door. (Completed) In Pic 1, you can see the notch in the far left gear of the window mechanism. As shown by the arrow, this is the direction the winder handle will point. Pic 2 with the handle temporarily placed, you can see where the handle will point. Should you wish to change the position, remove the DS04 screw from the left gear, reposition the gear where it will place the handle where you want it and then replace the DS04 screw.

Whichever way you decide for the winder positions, we will now progress with this update.Blink

Parts supplied..... Pic 3 (for a change LOL )

Take the two window winder parts (18C and 18D) along with a PS07 screw (Pic 4) and fit them together as in Pic 5.

Retrieve the inner door panel (15A) and position the lower trim (18B) on it, Pic 6. Hold the trim in place and turn the door over, then secure the trim using 2 x PS25 screws. Pic 7. Now place the inner door panel onto the inside of the door and secure it using 2 x DS02 screws. Pic 8.

Note: At this point I have changed the construction order slightly. The reason is that if your window winder handle points upwards, you may find it difficult to place the upper detail on the inside of the door. Yes you can wind the window down a bit if you add the winder first, I`m just covering all bases.

Which ever method you choose, move the inner door handle to its lowest position, indicated by the yellow arrow and fit the upper detail. All shown in Pic 9. Then, press in place the window winder as in Pic 10.

That concludes this update. Pic 11. See you again as soon as the next pack arrives.

See you soon,
