STAGE 6:

With these parts you can continue building the engine.

First, attach the manifold 6C to the engine and fix using 2 x AM screws.

Locate the three throttle valve connecting rods, 6H, and the intake valves, 2 x 6A and 1 x 6B.
Fit the rods to the pins on the ends of the intakes, taking care to position the ‘loop’ so that the larger part is facing downwards.
Fix the three assemblies in place using 3 x BP screws.

Fit the dipstick, part 6M, into the upper hole next to the engine mount bracket.
Fix the alternator bracket, part 6J, in place on the engine using 1 x AM screw.

OPTIONAL DETAIL:

You can improve the look of the alternator parts by carefully filling the vent spaces using a fine black marker pen.
This is at the builder’s discretion.

Locate the other alternator parts 6K and 6L and fit them together.
Fit the alternator in place on the engine. It will only fit correctly one way.
Locate the oil filter, part 6N, and press into place on the engine block.
It will only fit one way.

Fit the distributor cover, 6I, an place on the end of the engine and secure using 1 x AP screw.

Locate the intake manifold parts 6D and 6G and fit them firmly together.
They will only fit one way.
Fit the manifold to the engine and fix in place from underneath using 3 x KP screws.

Fix the throttle valve parts 6E and 6F together by pushing the pin on part 6F into the locating tab on part 6E. They will only fit together one way.
Press the assembly into the four locating holes on the manifold and fit the three linkage rods in place. Secure the end pair of rods using 1 x NP screw.

OPTIONAL DETAILS:

You can improve the appearance of the throttle valve by scraping the mould seam off of the upper surface using a sharp blade or sandpaper. Repaint the area with bright silver paint.
You can also add a detail decal to the oil filter.

STAGE 7:

With these parts you can build the first part of the brakes.

Locate the two halves of the brake caliper, 7A and 7B.
Press the two parts firmly together taking care not to break the locating pins.

Fit the two halves of the brake disc together – parts 7C and 7D – by fitting the four small pins into the four locating holes. Make sure the central screw holes are in alignment.
Fix the parts together using 2 x ZP screws.

Store these parts safely for now.

STAGE 8:

You can now begin assembling the front subframe.

Locate the left front control arm – part 8B, and one of the four silentblocks, part 8D.
Fit the block to the end of one arm on the control arm and secure with 1 x AEM screw.
Repeat with another 8D part on the other arm.

Both parts should be screwed together from the outside of the block.

Repeat the above using the other control arm, part 8C.

Fit the left control arm to the locating points in the subframe, part 8A and secure from the other side using 2 x CM screws.

Repeat the above using the right control arm.

This stage is now complete.
Store the parts safely.
