STAGE 17A:
These parts will allow you to continue assembling the transmission case and starter motor.
NOTE: In this stage the printed instructions contain an error. The pack of DM screws is incorrectly called out as DP screws. You are NOT missing a pack of DP screws.
Locate the sump pan parts, 17A and 17B. Fit the two parts together and secure using 2 x FP screws. The parts will only fit one way.
Locate the clutch housing, part 17D, and retrieve the transmission assembly from the previous stages. Fit the parts together and fix from the inside using 2 x DM screws. (NOT DP as incorrectly suggested)
Fit the back plate, part 17C in place and secure with 3 x DM screws.

STAGE 17B:
Locate the two starter motor parts, 17E and 17F. Press fit the parts firmly together. They will only fit one way.
OPTIONAL DETAIL: You can make the starter motor look much more like the real part by adding strips of aluminium metal tape in the positions as shown in the pictures. This is entirely at the builder’s discretion.
Fit the starter motor to the transmission and secure it using 1 x AP screw.
Retrieve the sump pan assembly and fix it to the transmission using 2 x JM screws.
Store your parts safely for now.

STAGE 18A:
These parts will allow you to continue assembling the engine.
NOTE: In this stage the printed instructions contain an error. The oil filter part 18C is incorrectly called the fuel filter. Likewise the fuel filter part18D is incorrectly called the oil filter.
Locate the engine right side part 18B and the oil filter part 18C. Fit the parts together and secure from behind using 1 x AP screw.
Repeat with the fuel filter part 18D and fix using 1 x AP screw.
Locate the right manifold part 18E and fix it to the engine side using 2 x AP screws.

STAGE 18B:
Repeat the previous step with the left engine side and manifold, parts 18F and 18G.
Retrieve the engine assembly from the previous stages and fit the two engine sides, parts 8B and 18F in place and secure using 2 x DM screws in each part.
Locate the engine block front panel, part 18A and fix it in place on the engine assembly, securing it using 2 x DM screws.
Store the engine safely for now.

STAGE 19:
These parts will allow you to continue assembling the engine.
Locate the water pump and pipes, parts 19D and 19E. Fit the parts together and secure using 1 x AP screw.
Locate the engine top, part 19A and fit the water pump pipes into the two locating holes at one end. Secure from underneath using 2 x AP screws.
Locate the water pipes, part 19F and fit in place behind the water pump. Fix in place using 3 x AM screws.
Locate the air pipe, part 19B and fix in place to the locating tube on the upper side of the engine top using 1 x AM screw.
Fit the black pipe, part 19C to the upper pin on the air pipe.
Store the assembly safely for now.

STAGE 20A:
These parts will allow you to continue assembling more of the engine.
Locate the intake manifold parts, 3 x 20D and 2 x 20C. Fit the curved manifold tubes into one of the flat lower plates. They will only fit one way. Secure them from underneath using 3 x AP screws.
Fit the other lower plate to the opposite side of the manifold tubes and secure as before using 3 x AP screws.

STAGE 20B:
Locate the two air box parts, 20A and 20B. Note that they are different. Part 20A has one vertical locating hole on the flat upper surface and part 20B has two.
Fit part 20B to the right side of the manifold assembly and secure from underneath using 2 x AP screws. The parts will only fit together one way.
Fit part 20A to the other side of the manifold and fix using 2 x AP screws. The parts will only fit together one way.
Fit this assembly to the top of the upper engine, part 19A from the previous stage. These parts will only fit together one way. Secure from underneath using 6 x AP screws.
Store this assembly safely until the next stage.

STAGE 21A:
These parts will allow you to continue assembling even more of the engine.
Retrieve the upper engine assembly from the previous stage and locate the right cylinder head cover, part 21A.
Fit the part in place on the right side of the upper engine and secure from behind using 2 x FP screws.
Locate the pressure regulator and oil filler, parts 21C and 21D. Fit these parts in place on the left cylinder head cover and fix using 3 x AP screws from behind.
Locate all of the air compressor parts, 21E, 21F, 21G and 2 x 21H. Fit the two posts on part 21G into the locating holes in the end of part 21F and fix from the inside using 1 x AP screw. Fit one of the curved brackets, part 21H around the assembly and secure using 2 x AP screws.

STAGE 21B:
Locate the other part of the air compressor, part 21E and fit the other curved bracket in place. Secure using 2 x AP screws.
Fit the completed assembly on the left cylinder head cover. It will only fit one way.
Fix all four of the curved bracket support legs in place using 4 x AP screws.
Fit the cylinder head cover to the upper engine part and secure from behind using 2 x FP screws. The parts will only fit one way.
Fit the completed assembly to the main engine assembly. The parts will only fit together one way.
Secure using 2 x DM screws through the holes in the upper centre of the engine, between the central water pipes.
Connect the small black pipe on the air pipe to the upper pin on the oil filler.
