like the caulking john, it looks really neat. I tried another way of trenailing with fishing line as one of the other guys did ,it was ok but when I seen this way ,it made up my mind.

total cost is about a fiver and a tea to keep the missus face straight, but I can assure you it does look better in the flesh so to speak.

help yourself, you can get them in them cheap shops like wilkinsons and then you just doctor them a bit and dont get the wires crossed.I cut my wires on a temp basis as it is easier to work on the boat like that, but you leave enough to easily connect back up

BigGrin As the more learned builders amongst you will notice, the gunports are too low and and too thick in construction, by the time the deck planks are fitted some will be below deck level and this will look crap. therefor I endeavered to put this right by raising them 4mm and religning the port and the walls. I think they now look a lot better and neater.

Finally got the decking done. The trenailing is some job but the end result is well worth it I reckon, thanks to the guy who put that into my head , I think he is on a victory build. Just got to give it a final light sanding and a wipe with a damp sponge and then it will be ready for a wash with the danish oil, another idea gotten from the surprise buildersBigGrin
