Hi All, BigGrin

So here we are with pack 2 of Megazord, covering issues 3 - 8.

For issue 3, I start with a couple of error warnings:

The screw list should read as follows.

3.12 KM 4+1 2x5mm countersunk head.
3.13 PWB 1+1 2x4mm black.
3.14 PWM 4+1 2x6mm fixed washer head.
3.15 PWM 4+1 2x4mm fixed washer head.

Due to the above, the following build stage corrections should be noted:

Stage 3b - Use a 3.15 screw
3d - Use a 3.15 screw
3j - Use 2 x 3.12 screws

Build guide coming soon. Blink

Hi All, BigGrin

Sorry for the delay in this post, but due to recent events things take a bit longer. I have been assured things will get better in time.Blink

Using the ammendments posted previously, this is issue 3 of Megazord.

Parts supplied.....Pic 1, you will also need several parts that were left over from issue 2. These will be indicated where appropriate.

We start with parts 3.1 and 3.2, fixing them together using 2 x 3.14 PWM screws as in Pic 2. Then attach part 3.3, using a 3.15 PWM screw as in Pic 3. Now construct the left side in the same manner as shown in Pics 4 and 5.

Next feed the wires 3.10 through the lighting support 3.7, making sure that the end with the larger plug is positioned as in Pic 6. Now pass the cable of part 3.9 through the same hole in part 3.7 (from the side of the larger plug of cable 3.10) securimg the two parts together as shown in Pic 7 using a 3.13 PWB screw. Keep this assembly close to hand as you will need it again in a couple of minutes.

Now, carefully remove the backing paper from the adhesive packing 3.11, Pic 8. Then wrap the packing around the rechargeable battery 3.8 as shown in Pic 9. Take the battery and position it as shown in the bottom of the face mask, part 2.1 as shown in Pic 10. Then take the assembly from Pic 7 above, place it over the rechargeable battery and fix it in place using 2 x 3.12 KM screws as in Pic 11.

Place the eyes 2.5 and 2.6 as shown in Pic 12 and secure them in place with part 2.3 and 2 x 3.12 KM screws as in Pic 13. Finally, invert the head assembly and fix the base 2.4 in place using 2 x 3.15 PWM screws as shown in Pic 14.

Pic 15 shows the assembled parts from this stage.

Hi All, BigGrin

Time for the next update for Megazord. I will be breaking this update down into smaller parts for ease of reading and viewing the pics.

So, here`s issue 4, part 1.

Parts supplied.....Pic 1. Other parts/assemblies will be notified as we go.

Follow my Pic 2 and position the cables through the lower head before you position the switch 4.6. . The thicker two wire and the three wire plugs go to the right as shown and the thin two wired plug goes to the left side. With the cables correctly positioned, add the switch 4.6 as shown.

Keep the lower head assembly inverted (the switch does not defy gravity as shown in the instructions) and insert the three plugs into the circuit board 4.7 as shown in Pic 3. Note: The plugs are all different, so can only fit in one socket.

Now, (being careful not to dislodge the switch 4.6) place the circuit board 4.7 and fix it in position using 2 x 4.15 PWB screws as in Pic 4. TEST: gently press the switch on and off. You should hear it click if positioned correctly. If all is good place the cover 2.12 (from issue 2) in place and fix it using 2 x 4.15 PWB screws as shown in Pic 5.

Position two rubber washers 4.11 into the channels of the head support pin 4.10 as shown in Pic 6. Then pass the pin through the base plate 4.9 as shown in Pic 7. Finally for Issue 4, Part 1: Place the lower head assembly onto the support pin as shown in Pic 8.

Time to rest the brain and eyes for a while, then I`ll be back with Part 2.

Hi Again, Blink

Here we go with issue 4, part 2.

Picking up where we left off, place the left hand horn assembly based on part 3.6 onto the support pin as shown in Pic 9. Then fit the third rubber washer part 4.11 into the top groove in the support pin, as indicated in Pic 10. Now place the right hand horn assembly onto the support pin as shown in Pic 11, noting that the pin does not come all the way through the horn base.

Bring the central horn assembly from issue 2 to the table and plug the central cable from the head assembly into it as shown in Pic 12. Now position the central head/horn assembly onto the head as shown in Pic 13.

For the next stage hold the head assembly together and from underneath fix it all together using a 4.14 PM screw, along with a washer 4.13 as indicated in Pic 14.

Finally and carefully test the movement of the side horns as shown in Pics 15 and 16. (Excessive force is not required)

The final stage of issue 4 will be coming up soon.

Hi All, BigGrin

Lots going on, so here we are with the update for issue 5.

Parts supplied.....Pic 1, any saved parts used will be indicated as we go.

We start with the right side of the head from the last update, back on the table and position the switch cover 5.3 as shown in Pic 2. Keeping the switch cover in place, add the circuit board 5.6 as shown in Pic 3 and retain it in place using 2 x 5.9 PWB screws as shown in Pic 4. Now plug the cable 5.7 into the socket on the circuit board just fitted, as in Pic 5.

Now remove the backing paper from the adhesive battery covering 5.5 and wrap it round the battery 5.4 as in Pic 6. Then position the battery and wire inside the jaw part 4.5 (supplied in the previous issue) as shown in Pic 7. Finally fix the battery cover 5.2 in place and fix it using 2 x 5.8 KB screws as in Pic 8.

That`s all for this update, results shown in Pic 9.

Hi All, BigGrin

I`m back with the next update for Megazord, issue 6.

Parts supplied.....Pic 1, you will also need the previous assemblies of Sabertooth`s head, from issues 4 and 5.

Start with the left side of Saber tooth`s head 5.1 and position the eye 6.1 on the inside, fixing it in place with a 6.9 PWM screw. Pic 2. Next, turn the head part over and press fit the outer ear part 6.5 as shown in Pic 3. Now fit the internal structure part 6.2 inside the head section and fix it in place using 3 x 6.9 PWM screws as in Pic 4.

We now move onto the internal electronics of Sabertooth`s head. Bring the assembly from the end of issue 5 (that houses the rechargable battery), to the table. Place the circuit board 6.7 inside it and fix it in place using 2 x 6.10 PWB screws, then plug the battery lead 5.4 into the smaller socket. All shown in Pic 5. Keep this assembly on the table and bring in the right side of the head. Pass the cable 5.7 from the outer head assembly, through the hole at the back of the part 4.5 as in Pic 6. Now plug that cable 5.7 into the second socket of the board 6.7, as in Pic 7. You can now place the assembly (built on part 4.5) inside the right head section, locating it on the posts inside the head as shown in Pic 8.

We finish off with Sabertooth`s lower jaw. Press the lower jaw 6.3 and the lower jaw cover 6.4 together (use a few spots of glue on the locating pins if loose) Pic 9. Now insert the throat part 6.6 inside the lower jaw, using a spot of glue if needed and add a bush 6.8 onto each side post. All shown in Pic 10.

That`s all for this update, Pic 11. "HOLD IT", go to the last page of the booklet and run the test shown there. Blink Blink

Hi All, BigGrin

Time for another update and this one will complete Sabertooth`s head, so its a biggun coming in two parts.

Parts supplied.....Pic 1, you will also need the assemblies from the end of issue 6.

WARNING: If you have not tested Sabertooth`s light up eyes, then do it now. (See issue 6 magazine inside back page).

Insert the Inner neck part 7.4 into the neck connector 7.3, as shown in Pic 2.

Refer to Pic 3 and assemble the head componants shown. Making sure that nothing moves out of position, add the lefthand head assembly as shown in Pic 4. Now fix the two sides of the head together (at the rear), using 2 x 7.16 KB screws as shown in Pic 5. Now take the top head part 7.1 and engage the back end first, then swing the front end down and fix it in place using 2 x 7.15 PWM screws, Pic 6. To complete the main structure of the head, press the forehead armour piece 7.2 into place as in Pic 7.

That`s all for the first part of this update. In the second part we construct the Saber teeth and fit them along with the smaller teeth.

Hi Again, BigGrin

Here we go with part B of Issue 7.

Parts are those left over from Part A, along with the constructed head from earlier.

NOTE: Care must be taken at this point, or you will end up with the Saberteeth pointing in opposite directions. Crying

Using a small amount of glue, stick a part 7.6 and the part 7.7 together as shown in Pic 8. Now place a washer 7.13 into the channel in part 7.7 as shown in Pic 9. Next fit the crossbar 7.14 into the base of the tooth and fix them together using a 7.17 PM screw as indicated in Pic 10. Construct the second Sabertooth in the same manner as the first (checking the orientation before you apply any glue), as shown in Pic 11.

Bring the head back to the table and pass the crossbar with the tooth attached, through the head from the righthand side as in Pic 12. Add the second tooth on the left side and fix it to the crossbar with a 7.17 PM screw, Pic 13. Now glue the tooth socket covers 2 x 7.9 in place, as in Pic 14. When the glue is set, you can turn the Saberteeth down into the correct position, Pic 15.

In the final stretch of this update take extra care not to drop the parts as carpet monsters love silver teeth. LOL

Invert the head and glue the upper teeth 7.10 R (Right) and 7.11 L (Left) into place as in Pic 16. Finally glue the two lower teeth 7.12 into the lower jaw as shown in Pic 17.

That`s all for this update, with Pic 18 showing the eyes lit up.

Hi All, BigGrin

Here we are with the final issue of this pack, Issue 8.

Here we start on the Sabertooth`s front left leg. Parts supplied.....Pic 1.

Press the metal spindle 8.6 into the upper leg part 8.3, as in Pic 2. Note: make sure the part 8.6 is fully inserted.

Now take this assembly and slot it into the articulated joint 8.1 and secure the parts with 2 x 8.7 PB screws as shown in Pic 3.

Carefully slide the parts 8.4 and 8.5 together as shown in Pic 4 and 5. Take this assembly and place it onto the upper leg as in Pic 6, fixing it into position from behind using an 8.7 PB screw, Pic 7. Then, keeping the parts in the same place, add the cover 8.2 and secure it using 4 x 8.7 PB screws, shown in Pic 8.

That`s all for this update, Pic 9. See you soon for the start of the next pack.
