It's looking good Moriaty. I've just finished the upper planking and due to start the inner walls, though haven't had the instuctions for that work yet. Is it done using the same planks as that on the outside?

I've also used Danish oil on my deck.

Hi guys , I was in a bit of a dilema on which wood to use. In the end I just used the lime planking for the walls as the decking material is too nice for walls although it has the strengh to take fittings for when the guns are installed.I planked the whole wall because of the lights that I am fitting and also at a later stage all the relevant walls for the cabins. This was done at a price however and I have had to order some more lime strip to complete to the waterline.Crying

Just thought I,d point out that I have used the wrong wood on the deck ,but I think it looks better. I will use the proper stuff below the bottom whales and every where else. Also looking through the inventory of parts I cannot see any galley or pumps, is this so or do we get them or is this something to make ourself?

Lovely decking,

But a quick question, is it best to varnish as you go along or do the whole model when its finished?

Thanks

Ger

hi ger, I think the varnishing aspect is always down to personal preference. I have usually built say a complete hull and then decorated, but I presume to have a fairly steady hand when it comes to that. There is always the quality of the build as well, Paint will hide and varnish will show.Confused
